I've been signed up to origin now for 27days and I still don't have a router! They took payment on the 6th Feb and have just fed me excuse after excuse. They can't even give me my adsl login details, I've asked twice, so I can use my own router. Completely abysmal service! (can I even use the word service? I've not received any!!!!)

Overall, great. Onshore help, speeds as offered, affordable prices. So much better than BT, Three and Talk Talk. It would be a full set of 5s if the tech crew cheered up a bit.

After 100 days without Broadband Origins offer of a compensation was a paltry £30. When you consider they had raided my bank account for over 3 times that amount during the same period, it demonstrates the contempt they have for their customers. Tech support won't answer the phone and complaints just spout platitudes

Was happy with them but their culture and customer service have changed. Got suckered into a two year contract, now they put their prices up and I cannot get out. When the two years is up I will not go back. Customer service now like robots; general complaint email not given as they may be 'swamped' by customers due to the price increase. It's garabge.

I was recommended this company by MSE as a cheaper alternative to EE but it turned out to be 3 times more expensive! Why?

Extremely extremely extremely unsatisfied. I moved to London a month ago, got the service a week ago and since then it has been disconnecting and I spend half a day with no internet connection at all. I am extremely sorry that I took this provider. And now I can't break the contract with no fee. SO 12 more months of this torture.
When it works it's pretty fast and the customer service is nice. But I can't live like this because I need to work from home.
Save yourself and don't take this provider!!!!!

They never were able to connect their service -- excuse after excuse -- I cancel and still waiting for a refund - their customer service - seems they do not care or they are not motivated to address customer issues -- it was a simple enabling of the service and they could not manage it - sorry for them -- I can predict they will be out of business very soon

Don't touch Origin Broadband with a barge pole. The service is totally unreliable, resetting passwords a nightmare and customer service pathetic. My Asus router needs resetting every day and the speed is slower than i have ever had!!!

I am too exhausted from the wasted hours spent on the phone with this bunch of incompetents to write a detailed account of the horrors I have endured with Origin. I would simply advise anybody thinking of signing up with them to think again.

Paid for a year upfront, don't even have the telephone connected so I knew I would have no extra charges... First month, lo and behold an extra charge! EVENTUALLY sorted and refunded (a month later), meanwhile every morning a reset is required, most days back from work... oh look a reset required! Told by their technical team, it's because I only have the basic line, yet I've had the same speed and specs for a year with Fuel Boradband with no issues at all (only reason I left was a big price hike) so I know that's untrue! My phone simply hates it and rarely connects if it has the option of 3G/4G, so I have to be careful with my usage there, streaming from Netflix is... well, ummm.... don't even try anything HD you won't have a chance, SD it kinda works eventually, just be prepared for all the buffering breaks. It's got so bad I've given up and written off the loss of the rest of the year and gone elsewhere (most expensive year ever for broadband, thanks Origin!)

At beginning of June my internet disappeared - just thought it was usual(!) drop-out - 2 days later realised no phone-line either - after the usual 40 minutes wait using my mobile, they
investigated and said my line was 'slammed' by another provider. They would try to get it back and ring me straight back.
After 4 days of no contact, had to endure another 40 minute wait on my mobile, to be told they're still dealing with problem.
6 days later of no contact from them, another 40 minutes on my mobile. Hurrah, that day they were reconnecting me. Sure enough both internet and phone line appeared.
I asked for credit on my bill and they granted a reluctant £6 FROM the time I had reported problem TO THEM.
Towards end of month I realised I'd not had an inbound phone-call.
Rang my own number from mobile and received engaged signal!
Another 40 minutes (standard wait?) call, although from land-line this time.
TO BE TOLD MY PHONE NUMBER HAD BEEN CHANGED.
WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE.
It would take too long to express just how awful this company is IN ALL RESPECTS.

Between the broadband which is not working and the impossibility to get through customer service (1.30 minutes wait on the phone), this company collect the bad points. To be avoided at all cost!

No problem during the lifetime of my contract, but on changing providers, was charged for services after my broadband service switched, and 4 months on have still to receive a refund for this charge (or even an acknowledgement that I have been overcharged). Also, a charge of £40 will be made for the router unless it is returned to Origin Broadband (they refund the postage up to £3.50, but the cheapest postage cost is £3.90).

Just been off the phone with them trying to cancel my service because I've had such a bad experience and was told I would have to pay for the rest of my contract and there was no way around it.
Don't sign up.
Don't try to call (you usually won't get through.
Company is too small to handle so many customers.

I have switched to Origin (never heard of them before) on the 7th of Nov from a well known provider. Great customer service, home broadband speed better than ever and better than the speed they guaranteed. Also a much better price. No interruptions at all either. So far I am very happy

For internet speed (great) customer service (****) i first began with them mist May, they got my order wrong & set me up with the downstairs flat. I could still connect to it as guy downstairs had moved out, but without any notification, they cut me off for 14 days then re-connected me, 6 days later i was issued my first bill of 17.99, was not happy & tried to sort out some sort of arrangement the screw up, i was given a free month to be added to my account but days later another 17.99 came out of my bank account for the next months bill. I complained & won 2 months line rental, its notw 30 days later & i still havent recived the 2 months line rental back, im getting pissed off with the sevice as it is. Will be making a indemnity claim to get my cash back & suggest that everyone else does the same.

I have to tell you how disappointed and annoyed with Origin I am ,for an award winning company I can’t believe how bad the service has been and continues to be .
Decided to change from John Lewis ( no problems ever ) to Origin ( on price ) at the end of Nov 2016, received confirmation email telling me I was in the system, then nothing for weeks ,no communication at all, no router nothing , apart from a survey email asking for ratings , I phoned Origin 23rd Dec ( 1¼hours ) to find out what was happening, nice polite chap told me I was booked in for Jan 5th 2017 fine.
7.45am Jan 5th morning Open Reach engineer called me and said would call and fit line ? Already got good line, after he was finished, I was told that I would keep my existing phone number which was important to me as many of my business contacts phone me at home on this number.
I phoned Origin (1½ hours) that day to enquire about a router as I still had not received, a few days later still no router.
I noticed that I had not received any phone calls from anyone, so I phoned my land-line from my mobile, I couldn't get through because my number had changed without anyone telling me ! .
Phoned Origin ( 2¼hours ) Jan 7th to try to sort out, polite but ,no help, no router.
Thursday 12th two routers turn up in same post both set to old number, phoned Origin again ( 2 hours ) but did get working, no luck getting old number back, was told would get a call back from tech team , nothing, 13th Jan I phoned ( 2½ hours ) again still no luck getting number back ,14th Jan tried “live chat” on web site ( 1¾ hours ) was told ( politely) would get a call on Monday 16th from tech team ,still waiting for that.
So after all this stress I should be getting good broadband speeds ? No chance, download speed between 0.44 / 0.99 mbps / upload 0.30 – 0.34 ping 58.50- 64.50ms ( BT test ) wired to router in evening , which makes it very slow to use , used to get about 1.2 -1.5 so never very good, but just about useable, just can’t find the enthusiasm to phone again and waste a few more hours of my life on hold listening to Brain Blessed telling me they have had better days .
I can honestly say I wish I had not changed to this company, I also feel that I would be justified to cancel my contract without penalty and be reimbursed any monies already paid if these problems are not resolved in a reasonable time and manner ,starting with an apology .

Signing with Origin was a bad mistake. We do not have the internet most of the time, when we do the speed is pre-2000 dial up modems. The customer service is substandard. First you have to wait an hour to get through to them "first tier" ( that is the people who do not know what ping is). They lie most of the time saying the outage is nationwide for all ISPs and the open reach are working on it. That is to avoid paying a compensation. And so you are left with a paid upfront annual contract and no Internet. The only advice is to AVOID these people or loose your money.

Cheap. The helpline staff are very good & helpful. I bet they get lots of practice. I was barely able to get connected or stay connected. Watch out for the Anytime Landline charges too. Calls to mobiles are expensive. I got out asap.

This probably has to be one of the worst internet providers I've had to deal with. Connection constantly cuts out, sometimes for hours or it just jumps on and off every two minutes. Earlier today, I tried downloading an app of the GooglePlay store, it genuinely took me 5 minutes because the connection kept jumping on and off. Don't get me started on the game I tried downloading the other day. YouTube was struggling to load a 240p video earlier this week. And all of this is AFTER we switched to the 'fiber optic' package. We tried calling the tech line, see if we could get these issues sorted, we were told that they cannot speak to us because we, as tenants, are not listed 'as trustees' as it's our landlord who sorted the wifi. I don't blame the employees, it's a rule, not their fault. But it's a stupid rule because they refused to even check if anything was wrong with the connection.
Sure, sometimes it runs smoothly and we don't have any issues, but to put it in perspective, I am writing this off my 3G.

After signing up with Origin. It took 2 weeks to get an engineer out and installed. That was normal. However the same day of the line being installed, I still had no connection. Called them to wait on the phone for an hour. Got told to wait 24 hours. Called the next day as no connection. Told to wait another 24 hours. Still no connection. Logged a fault. 48 hours and 3 call later ( all calls were longer then an hour on hold) Got told that it had been logged with BT. Wait 48 Hours. this went on for 2 weeks until they managed to get BT onsite. Finally got connected. about a week later, lost internet connection, could not get through to any of there numbers. I have not gotten any reply backs to the emails i have sent through to them for support. They have now charged me for line rental on a package that has no line rental as advertised and agreed to when signing up.

Avoid this company if you can! It takes absolutely ages to get through on the phones. I have had to make many phone calls to try and sort out a refund as they have taken too much from my account. Keep getting promised a call back, no one ever calls! NOT ACCEPTABLE. Still not resolved and has been going on since beginning April 2017.

If you have time to waste. Like being given the runaround, like to spend hours on hold on the phone, have money to giveaway, love being ignored, like to spend time waiting for a call you never get, don't like getting straight or any answers to your legitimate questions, love listening to lies and absolutely love getting fobbed off.

Please even you are my worst enemy, I will advise you to avoid this network, pls pls pls pls pls. I signed for the 2 contracts and at the end of the contract they upgraded me early but I cancelled the upgrade with 14 days and took Plusnet. I was told that I won't pay anything cos my contract ended in Dec 2021. Instead of stopping my service they continue to charge and by March 2022 they have charged me about £500 they insisted I must pay or they send my name to the de3bit collector and put default of my credit rating to destroy my life. If you love your life pls avoid and avoid to avoid heart attacks and live longer

Absolutely disgusting service!!! Waited over a month for a live date after being told that I would have a live date by the and of the week
I placed my order on the 6th October it is now 10th November and STILL NO INTERNET! Although I was told my live date would be on the 8th
I've been kept on hold for 1hr and 37 mins
I've asked to cancel my order and speak to a manger and they just offered me £15 off my next bill
Still awaiting a call back from a manger...
Terrible terrible service!!
Everything about this company is wrong I wouldn't advise using this company for anything!!

worst broadband provider ever, got installation done and straight away could see the speed was atrocious, nowhere near the speed they had stated, customer services tried their best to sweet talk me into staying and even when I emailed the managing director they stated I would have to pay a termination fee, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. They state that the reviews of their company are biased as there are lots of happy customers. Please for your sake and your wallets don't use this company, you have been warned. I wish I'd read the reviews before.

I joined them on an 18month supersaver deal and paid upfront for my landline and broadband. Yet almost EVERY month they kept taking money out of my account for broadband and line rental. It is unbelievable how difficult it is to get you money back from them. They keep lying which is why they are so difficult to deal with. First they promise you itl be back in your account within 7days, after 7days they say another 7days, then they increase that to 30days, then they say its not company policy to send a paid back to an account via BACs and that they've posted a cheque to my home address. A further month later when no cheque arrives and after screaming at them down the phone, they finally agreed to send my money into my account via BACs.
These fictitious cheques NEVER made an appearance. And I had to go through this same torture pretty much every month as despite being on a supersaver they refused to allow me to cancel my direct debit.
Don't even get me started with Kim in the complaints department who refuses to give you her surname. When you get sent through to her in complaints she never responds back to you when she says she will. Also when you mention members in the team you have spoken to, TWICE shes told me two members of Origin staff who promised me refunds that never arrived have now left the company. I thought I would ring customer services to see if she was telling the truth, only to find she was lying as usual.
Not only is their broadband constantly dropping speeds, their is no point speaking to anybody at Origin about anything as the whole company just send you on a wild goose chase and never resolve anything. Fastest speed I managed to get on my line with Origin was 30mbps with constant drop in connection. I have now switched to Vodafone Broadband with whom I get 38mbps on the same time with no drop in connection.
Origin Broadband are just awful. STAY AWAY!

I was supposed to be connected on 5/12/16. Hub had arrived. BT were to connect line, they came as arranged. Told me line allocated was in use elsewhere so would need another engineer & that would be done in 24hrs. I am still waiting! Have contacted Origin customer service & I have to say they are more than helpful. They are unfortunately at the bottom of the line as far as BT/Open Reach are concerned! BT, TalkTalk, & whoever else come before Origin! Sad, but that's the way it works apparently.
I unfortunately will be requesting a refund for my paid up front & unused line rental.
(Please note: I already have broadband supplied by Origin for another property which I am more than happy with but already had a phone line in use)

Having been with Origin for 4 years and been happy with the service. It is now turned into a shambles. Now interupted or no internet for 17 days. Promised a new router which hasn't come over a week ago. 16 phone calls later numerous emails to them to discuss the problem. I have now left them. Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else
