Terrible service. Internet is dropping 10 times a day and sky is impossible to reach. Do not pick this provider

Switched from BT last year. Counting the months until we can move elsewhere and regain a reliable WiFi service. Problems from the start; wifi cutting in and out, didn't cover house having to buy all sorts of extensions and plug-ins. We should have cancelled however are now stuck with a WiFi service which works less frequently than it actually works. Kids upset that they can't do their online gaming; we're having to use phone data for basic browsing etc...To date customer service of no service. I would recommend avoiding Skype broadband at all costs; easily our worst internet/broadband experience.

Broadband speed hasn't been bad at all, if i did have an issue (once), their tech team were really helpful. i live quite far away from the actual box so what i get is very responsible

Customer service is within the UK, least everyone i have spoken to have been. I see this as a good thing, keeping jobs within the UK. NOT for any other reason before someone gets soft.

Called within a view of leaving as Vodafone seemed to have a better deal. Called Sky and within minutes i was offered a package with a discount of £120 for the year. taking into account the contract time with Sky was less, i don't have to mess about at all with changing providers. I was pretty chuffed. Never had an issue with payment, can't see how you would with a DD. Service in comparison to TALKTALK is a dream. Wouldn't ever dream of using their services again.

I have done speed tests many times with different on-line testers. Our Sky download speed is always less than 1Mb per second - just not acceptable these days.

DON'T SWITCH TO SKY!!! I Switched from BT to Sky - BAD idea. Wifi rubbish!!! doesn't work most of time so was advised to buy sky wifi extender- it didn't make 1 iota of difference. Opted to cancel during the ten day cooling off period. Sky won't refund the money I paid for extender & I now need to pay a £60 re-connection fee to BT so far I'm out of pocket to the tune of £80 & worst of all no wifi for a month until switch takes place.

Speed is always below 1Meg, customer service do not want to know, they say something has changed in the house, this is total rubbish, the speed has dropped over the last couple of years by nearly 1Meg to the point where is is becoming unusable, to download a movie it takes nearly 18 hrs, in this day and age it is total rubbish and i would not recommend.

Starting out, sky broadband and connection was excellent. This was 1 year ago. Im a heavy user of broadband relying on it for work as well as domestic use. Working in the IT industry I know my stuff technically and the last month or so has been unbearable. Intermittent loss of network, severe speed fluctuation and general slowness for their unlimited dsl connection. Called tech support, ran through the usual, very helpful at this stage to help and thats where it ended. They sent out a sky "engineer". Didn't have a clue what he was on about and was constantly on the phone to someone else asking advice. He left the phone on speaker at one point to which the other "engineer" said "Well the connection hasn't dropped for a few days just plug it all back together and leave it to see how it goes". At this point he had tried his test router with same issues as I was getting and tried the phone line. Speed still dropping below 1mbps but this was normal apparently as he was submitting a survey I had filled out while connected to my Wi-Fi. It was at this point I knew I was never going to get anywhere with them and needed to leave. Virgin media - better deals, speed and support by miles (at this point in time) don't waste your time or money on this as it honestly isn't worth it. Virgin are voted the best for a reason. Only wish they had provided fibre in my location earlier so I wouldn't of had to put up with this for so long

We have had an ongoing issue with our sky broad band for about 3 months. Internet had been on and off. Sometimes off for days at a time. After numerous calls to sky...recently everyday the issue is still to be resolved. We have been instructed to buy a new router which did not work then 2 days later a engineer and now a week later they want us to pay for another engineer to come out. We are paying for broad band and on demand services which cannot be used. Id advise using another provider if you want any reliability and to save money.

Agreed to pay £5:00 per month in October 2016 with no additional charges bank statement showed that £10:00 had been taken, am still waiting for this to be resolved despite numerous calls from them about understanding my frustration at the incompetence of not as yet listening to voice transcripts. Avoid them if you want good customer service, They also try to tell you that they charge additional charges for not having line rental etc but when contract agreed they were clear £5:00 per month.

What can I say.... I can't see any stars in sky, if there were a lower rating ild rate them a black hole, all you get with sky is the same bullsh!t day in day out, if its reliability your looking for, don't look up to sky all you'll find is a cloud, the signals blocked for long periods of time and when you do get a break in the cloud, don't expect to stream videos/ play games or browse web pages for longer than 10mins, there customer support team is amazing though, it seems that they can work miracles within the touch of a button when you complain, speeds seem to shoot over the top limit and everything becomes out of this world, but it ain't no heaven, after a couple of days those guardian angels seem to forget about you and you end up in hell again, struggling to do anything whilst that fcuking box smiles at you.... That's just my opinion, but if you don't mind not having there service half the time and like to watch your router smile at you, just remember it's your money there taking!

Good experience for one year. Moved house and transfer failed. Customer services unable to correct a failed transfer order. Told it was an Openreach problem, then not showing complete on Sky system. Then told I'd have to cancel everything and place a 'new' order. Back of the queue again with 10-14 days for service connection. Should have been transferred on 9th Dec. Now without telephone or broadband over holiday period. Out of contract so might as well switch provider and get a new customer deal with someone else. Disgusted with Sky.

Do not believe what Sky tells you they fail to deliver ANYTHING that they promise. My phone line has not worked properly since I switched to Sky and they are not interested in solving your issues. It has been three months now and it is still the same and unusable. They have sent two engineers to take a look and both of them said there is nothing they can do and that they sent the wrong person. I strongly advise against switching to Sky.

I only changed to Sky because the service from BT was so appalling. However Sky don't even seem to answer the phone. I have been on hold for hours today and never did get through.

I moved into a new house last year so I had a new line installed by BT and I've had no issues for 12 months. Then I decided to transfer to Sky due to the promotion they were running. I had an email confirming everything was transferred earlier in the week. I was away with work so couldn't check at that time. I came back last night and connected the Sky hub to find out that I had no internet. I connected Sky only for them to say that they would need to send an engineer out to fix the issue even though there was no problem with the line last week with BT. To top it off, I was planning to work from home today which I cannot do now and have to wait another 5 days to see whether the engineer can fix the issue! a £5 gift card just doesn't seem to cut it with me! I would of been more satisfied if they had offered to pay for my petrol to travel back and forth from work today or even a days pay. Like they say the grass is not always greener!

I had earlier used Sky from September 2012 to August 2015 and had zero issues. I switched to TalkTalk in August 2015 and it was the worst decision I'd ever made. I'm seeing a lot of reviews on this site quoting that Sky are bad, and for what it's worth, my review is only anecdotal after all, but I must say that moving back to Sky from TalkTalk this month feels like the best decision I've ever made. I think, like other reviewers have pointed out, Sky's ratings are a bit on the low side because a lot of people bother to leave a review only when they've had a bad experience (though this should be the same bias for all ISPs!). Anyway, I'll leave that determination to better statisticians than myself! I've found that Sky's customer service and billing practices and contract renewal/cancellation practices are lightyears ahead of TalkTalk and I'm happy that I'm back with Sky now. What with hacks of my personal information at TalkTalk (my entire household began receiving threatening scam calls after the infamous TalkTalk hack) to TalkTalk forcing me to enter into a new, higher priced contract with them for 18 months when I moved house, to failing to activate my broadband at the new house and blaming OpenReach despite 3 engineers all unanimously declaring that TalkTalk had not switched on the line at the exchange, to attempting to bill me in advance for 2 months of broadband when I had not had a single byte of data at my new address thanks to TalkTalk not switching on the line at the exchange, it has been an absolute nightmare dealing with them. I'm super glad to be back with Sky, they had the service up and running as soon as I switched to them and have had zero issues with my connection both in the past and ever since I switched this month!

Sky broadband is always slow, anywhere I have lived. Sky has the worst customer services of any provider of any service I have used. Do not expect them to help you fix your problems and you can expect them to keep you trapped in contract even when they do not fulfil their own end. I am paying extra for supposedly faster internet and still have constant internet problems, the whole package was a scam.

Cancelled sky TV package a year last September, they offered me free broadband (line rental only) to stay with them. Just looked at bills online and they have been charging me £10 a month for sky plus, I called them and they told me that they thought I would still like to record programmes, how can I if I don't have a box?!! and in any case when you cancel TV you lose access to recordings you have made on sky plus box. They are not fit to have access to bank accounts , no different to other financial scammers!!! Beware check your bills regularly.

Where to begin, rude customer service, terrible practices. Ordered broadband and the date for it to work came and went. Rang sky only to be given the usual run around and "were working on it", over a week later still nothing so after 4 phoncalls was told "this was going to be escalated" and would be sorted soon, recieved a call back an hour later where they asked me to carry out all checks my end and that my phoneline doesnt work, it worked fine, to which it was checked and all fine. At this point i asked to speak to management as i was being given the run around.
The irish sky customer service agent then became defensive and began to refuse to give me any information. At this point i asked for his full name to which he became abusive and hung up the phone. Absolutely ridiculous customer service. Very very poor. Still no internet and now in the process of cancelling sky already. Such cowboys, please really dont waste your time and effort. Its been an absolute headache and hassle for somthing that hasnt even started yet. Terrible

Got home after a weeks break and no internet or landline phone , assumed it was a temporary fault switched the box , router etc off and on again , still no joy.
Left it overnight still not working spent god knows how much calling sky on mobile got the bog standard its the micro filters response.
They posted new filters as expected did no good i had already established myself it was the phone line by simply plugging the phone direct into the socket and bypassing all the sky gubbins altogether.

Called sky back after 10 minutes of being told it was my fault and my equipment they eventually made an appointment for openreach to attend which they did this morning 11 days after the fault was reported .

Engineer checked line said in seconds the line is faulty , checked the socket the line outside and the box in the street it turns out another openreach engineer had needed to disconnect our line at the exchange to repair another line but had forgot to re connect our line.

took an hour no apology but at least its working.
    Sky service is terrible..

I was due to receive my new sky HD box today, I waited in all day because "That was the date agreed" and when I contacted services to ask when installation was coming because theresults only 45min late, a worker called Keith words are "Didn't they inform you there not coming today?? Do you possible have a week off in December because we've penned you in for next availability 14th". When I told him am going to the bank in morning to stop payment, Keith says "can I pass you on to other department" I had to tell him that they've wasted my entire day never mind other 20min. Crap is a understatement

Installed Sky Q TV, phone and broadband in the summer. Issues with all 3 services from start. Phone not working at all and broadband slow. It took me hours on the phone before they sent out an engineer but even then phone fixed but speed still slow. More hours on the phone and technician eventually got me to download and time a file through a hard wired connection to test my speed, which I timed at 67 seconds but they claimed was only 45 seconds. A blatant lie. Resorted to writing letters but refused to send engineer out again, claiming speed test at their end was fine despite receiving only half advertised speed. TV box still crashing on daily basis.

I've recently moved house (2 miles apart). First OpenReach connected me to someone else's line! Previously I was getting around 16Mbps download which was quite good. Tests with assorted speed testers show below 3 Mbps and as low as 0.6 now. I've just downloaded a 12.5 MB file which previously would have taken about 20 secs but took nearly 6 minutes! If the broadband was as good as their customer service it'd be okay. How I miss Virgin!

Anyone that wants good service for either tv phone or broadband dont go with these they rob people of money by making them pay for things that are either interupted or dont work ..... when you contact customer service the advisors talk over you and speak to you like utter rubbish you try and complain about it and they dont like it you have the phone put down on you ... they even ring you and tell you that yourentitled to a 100% debt wipe off and able to rejoin sky then half way through the call they then say you dont qualify . I dont blame any customer who leaves sky or dont pay them because all in all their just bothered about emptying peoples pockets and conning people . Never again will I ever fall for your tricks sky .

I'm moving away from Sky because we don't need the TV service anymore, and because our bills seem to be completely random between 45 and 60 pounds recently for no apparent reason. Got confirmation of the move on the 22nd, but Internet stopped working today, one day early at midnight. And that's after about 10 years with Sky. Make of that what you will.

Unless you need Sky TV, anywhere else is better!

Don't choose Sky as your broadband plan.

I have been with Sky broadband customer (not fibre) for about 1.5 years, for the first year it has actually been quite good. However, since about 3 months ago, prices have gone up and quality has degraded massively. To give you an idea of how bad the quality is at times, I had to restart the router 3 times before being able to load this page, and even then it took close to 40 secs to load.

Don't go with Sky, it is now completely over priced and the quality is about as reliable as the 2G mobile connections years ago.

Worst ISP I've ever had. Constant loss of connection. Impossibly slow. Like using Internet in '97. Pathetic.

My phone data constantly runs out due to wifi constantly being down! Speak to call centre but they never want to send out engineers and you can never speak to the same person twice! Horrendous service that's costs a bomb!!

The good - Recently I went to leave Sky, they offered me free broadband for a year. Which is not too bad. This review is primarily my experience from 2012 - 2015.

My mobile phone runs faster than sky broad band. Constantly cut out repeated times a day. Never took responsibility, blamed me. Eventually years later they did fix it.

I wouldnt recommend sky. Only reason i am with them is they offered a good deal to stay. Knocking 50 off my bill and free broadband for a year.

Worse, is it hadn't been installed properly. I have lost use of the phone sockets in my house (a new home on 3 floors) - a socket on each floor. Sky came to my home and removed all of these, without my permission, or my knowledge. It will cost me a fortune to fix. Really not happy at all. Sky is pretty bad. Don't go there.

I've been using sky for over 3 years at the same address and they changed my land number without any notice and my permission ...I think they supposed to ask before to do it as I was paying for that. I am very regret and not recommend to use this provider.
...sometimes your life depend on it and you can expect important calls...

Don't get it, its a trap. My internet goes down about twice a day, sometimes more. Download speed hits about 500kb/s, 500kb/s... its dreadful.

Open reach ( arranged by Sky) came on 18/7/2016 to install phone line.
eventually installed 7/11/2016. phone has been OK broadband has been pathetic - always dropping signal, . you're lucky if you get 50% of time on line. Friends told me to avoid Sky. Obviously the bigger the company the less they care about customers.
