    Totally useless-

Had an my account for a month, spent £42.40 total (one setup cost an one month of bills) had two engineers come over, spent four hours total on their phone line and got NOT A SINGLE BYTE OF INTERNET.

They just couldn't get it working. Apparently something to do with them needing to update the Sky hardware in my building but successive engineers inexplicably failing. Bearing in mind this is in a new build in Zone 1 London- you wouldn't think it difficult. Cancelling it was a whole fandango, and I need to wait months to (maybe, possibly, perhaps) get my money back.

    AVOID.

Absolutely the worst broadband experience, drops, slow and they do not let you cancel. Totally disgusted.
I would not go with sky for anything again, and previously albeit several years ago it was very good.
I just want to cancel. And use a provider that works.

My experience with Sky and their broadband has been somewhat mixed, but mostly negative after being with them for around a year at this point. When it works it's actually pretty decent, I can keep a good connection to stuff like servers and hosts, and downloading -- while obviously not that fast -- is usually not bad either. And it is an unlimited service, so there's no real limit to what you can do outside of really intensive tasks that go past the provided bandwidth.

My biggest complaint however is the reliability of it all. The above statement is irrelevant most of the time, as I am constantly hit with huge spikes in lag or latency when playing games or streaming a basic video, and even worse the broadband tends to disconnect entirely which results in loss of connection and is incredibly frustrating to experience. I wouldn't mind this so much if it happened maybe once or twice a day, but I suspect that it happens dozens of times per day and makes me a bit afraid to do something over the Internet in case it does happen.

I have used customer service a few times and am likely going to start looking at perhaps switching providers if my experience with Sky does not improve, but even when officials come directly to my house it doesn't end up being very useful. I've had my router replaced once which has done virtually nothing to fix any of the connection problems, and an analyst of some sorts came and went without giving any insight or anything that could help me become a bit more reassured. To give credit where credit is due though, the manual service is certainly there, but how useful it is will vary from person-to-person.

In short, I am overall quite dissatisfied with the reliability of the service and would not recommend getting Sky broadband on that front, unless you only need very light use of the Internet (such as browsing text and pictures, or looking at e-mails). Everything else is sort of in the middle, not amazing but it has some merit to it.

I've had no problems with the BB service, although it doesn't work in our back room (a long way from the router). My only gripe is that they put up the prices (the latest hike means I'm looking around for another provider) at least twice a year. There's no reason for it other than greed. Calling them to threaten to leave usually works in getting them to reduce their price, especially when new customers are being offered a better deal.

Since coming over to sky from talktalk it's been like night and day, I've gone from having no internet to full service back (after being told it was my line that was faukty by TT) customer service was friendly and helped me out. My only gripe was that I ordered sky Q after being told my property was compatible only to be good after 4 weeks on the install day that I couldn't have it, I then downgraded to sky + but as I was a returning customer from the past they weren't going to send a sky + box first of all. After a bit of negotiatiating they offered to send one for a small fee, however the 2nd hand market is flooded with them so I managed to get one off eBay for a tenner. Anyway I'm happy and I don't care if my prices rise slightky this year I'd rather pay more then go back to what I had (or didn't have)

Not even worthy of one star. The wifi box is outside my bedroom and I can't access the wifi any where in my room or any where else in the house apart from next to the wifi box. Sky is way to expensive for the service they're providing and I am disgusted at the lack of help and lack of manners at sky customer service. This has been going on for 2 years and I'm hopefully switching to a different supplier because sky is a joke. NEVER SIGN UP FOR SKY.

Be careful of SKY - they lie!! I've now had two bad experiences:
    - they tried to overcharge me for a contract that had been cancelled. Despite them agreeing I was right after playing back the phone calls I made, they tried again to charge me. I then decided I needed to resolve it in writing, and used Martin Lewis's approved 'Resolver.co.uk'. They then had the cheek to say what I had been advised by their adviser over the phone about contracts was wrong, and therefore I'd still have to pay. I'm still battling with them - it started on November 22nd, and email letters are still going back & forth. Think I'm going to have to visit the Citizens Advice Bureau and threaten SKY with 'small claims court' action. The amount of time I've spent is ridiculous - I think they know most people are too busy to do this (especially Sky customers), and therefore will just pay up - it's £55.
Secondly, they lied when my elderly mother moved house. As I knew she'd struggle to remember a new phone number (after over 50 years with the same one!!), I asked if we could have one that would be easier to recall. They said yes when I placed the order, & said to phone after installation. Which we did & they then said there was no way we could do that. Again, I think they work on the assumption people won't be hassled to change & be without a phone line. We did - and went to Virgin, & were able to choose a number.

Took me two weeks, two engineer's and hours of debating over the phone to get my broadband sorted! Well I say sorted I now have 4.5 MBPS. The to engineer's I got ,the first one new nothing that I didn't already try. The second was specialised on broadband and fixed it. Both times they tried to charge me £49 witch I never paid because it was their problem.

Worst broadband provider ever, paid £30 a month for barely 10mbps i'm moving next week so I called customer support about 2 weeks ago for canceling they said everything was being setup for me and will have no extra costs, i woke up this morning and £30 was taken from my account for another month of usless broadband, I called back to get an immediate cancellation and the operator on the phone took 20 min to get it trough their system and still i didn't get a confirmation, i will never use sky again and I will not suggest it to anyone, ridiculous

The broadband was initially set up swiftly with no fuss and never had any problems with it. The speed was decent for standard broadband (decent enough for my needs anyway). We had some problems with the broadband when we moved house (this was found to be the openreach socket or line at fault) but the Sky customer service person dealt with this excellently. The guy over the phone (which was from a UK based call centre) helped me eliminate all the basic problems and then he booked engineer when it was found that it was a more serious problem. The internet was fixed about a week later with minumum fuss and has been running perfectly ever since. Would definitely recommend.

Truly the worst company I have ever dealt with. Got my broadband 6 months ago. 3 months ago it went out...took Sky 3 weeks to fix it! Just went out again...Sky's systems to identify the problem are also down (lol @ this company) so no idea when it will be fixed. I live in central London!!! Absolutely ridiculous for a 2017 internet service company. I'm switching providers as soon as my contract is up. Suggest you all avoid Sky!!!!!!

WORST broadband ever, and we lived 15minutes from city centre in ZONE 1.
Internet breaks up every 1 hours, you need to restart the modem to refresh it and bring it to LIFE!! INSANE. upload speed is not even 1MB, for GOD SAKE we live in 2017... this is INHUMANE... worst company ever...

We moved from Inverness to Glasgow.
Didnt had choices to pick which broadband provider to choose, even if i already rode internet reviews for SKY broadband, most of them were BAD experience.. NEVER I WILL GIVE A CHANCE TO ANYONE...

Do yourself a big favor and complete avoid Sky internet services. Absolutely frustrating, constantly dropping out and usually with speeds far below what the contract states they will provide.

The only good thing is the UK based customer service, they are polite and try their absolute best, however on three very long phone calls with them they concluded that 'there's nothing we can do.'

Sky are providing an internet service which is much slower than the broadband I first had in 2004. Its 2017 and its quite shameful that they are selling this sort of service onto people. I've actually been to third world countries with better connection speeds than Sky.

I'll be going back to Virgin, its more expensive but fully reliable and never had a problem in the three years I used them.

Last year in August I had a problem with my internet. It just stoped working. I called up customer service and they made me do a number of tests. I was told to do this test more than twice. Still after doing everything that was asked of me. My internet was down when I asked if I could please get an engineer sent to my house I was told no because I only had a couple of days left with sky and that they could not send anyone out. So I was paying for a service which I was not even receiving. Not to mention the amount of time I spent over the phone doing everything that was asked of me and treated as if I had no idea of anything I was doing. Totally lack of customer service. Now just 2 days ago I find myself with no internet again. Once again I called them up I told them my internet is not working and they make me do all the same tests again and still no internet then after nearly one hour on the phone he tells me he will send out a micro filter but that I will need to wait a few days for it. Or that I should go and buy one myself if I need the internet. Surely this is not the way you should talk to a customer but sadly I was spoken to like this. Then when asked if they could send out an engineer I was told I had not done all the tests and that he can't send anyone out as this will be a waste of time for them and for myself. So I patiently have to wait until the micro filter arrives and then when it more than likely still won't work call them up again and keep on eating my time speaking to pre programmed robots which have saldo no customer service skills or even any knowledge of what they are doing as I was placed on hold as he asked for advice on what else to do. I wish I had never gone with sky and will make sure I will never be one of their customers in the future. Very, very poor care for their customers.

I wanted to change from sky to another service provider as I've done many times in the past with various companies, never have I had such an ordeal like I have trying to leave sky.
They blocked the transfer twice, then I was going to be left without service after advice from a few under trained sky staff I'm a month further down the road and on my 3rd tranger date. The other day they blocked my services when I rang they said I hadn't paid my bill. I informed them I'm aware, I canceled DD and was waiting for my final bill once transfer was complete. No that's not how it works now I have to pay up front for the service we would of provided if you hadn't left us I refused and paid up to final day and requested they bill me if it's delayed they were happy with that crazy notion. Now I find myself without a service not once in 3 years has there been a technical issue but now there is im no Internet they can't fix coz I'm leaving
    Totally full of it!!!!

I was transferred to Sky from O2 a few years ago and am more than pleased. The speed is consistently 37mbs against the 'offered' speed of 40MBS. I get virtually no drop outs and always get through to someone in minutes and always find that they will do a deal at the end of the contrcat.

Been with sky for over 20 years been a loyal customer never missed any payments on any months for the whole 20years.
2 years ago BT informed me that fiber broadband was open to my home. I contacted sky and taken out the fastest broadband and a new TV service with them to revive nothing but trouble with the broadband dropping out and not working, having to rest all the broadband up to 3 times a day some days. I contacted sky and they refused to give me a new router and my mum herself had to pay for a new box out of her own money Evan though we was still in the 18 month contact (2 months in). The contract is up for a renewal and we have cancelled the TV services due to no used to pay for it. We paid 75 pounds per month for broadband and TV. We then got quoted 45 pound for broadband services alone, I find this unfair and not loyal to a customer that was been with for over 20 years. Other customer I know had the brand new sky Q 4 boxes, full tv packages, and fiber broadband all for 80 pounds per month. Sky's have no loyalt to their existing customer what so ever. The customer services is very poor and the manger I spoke to called Donna is the rudest person to speak to and wouldn't advise anyone to talk to her. Sky is terrible and their service and customer services I've very poor aswell!! Stay away people... my policy is now cancelled and won't be going back to them. Moving provides. Hope no one else experiencing this.

Switching was easy, no other contact with customer service. Speed good except afternoons when it often stops. Same as previous 2 ISPs.
Watching video on YouTube stutters due to buffering even when speed test shows 30+ mbs and PC is on ethernet to router.

I switched from BT some time ago. It was an improvement but broadband speed is still poor. I find on the internet that the cabinet to which my phone line is connected is FTTC. Is there a reason why this should not enable a better service to be provided? If so how can I go about it?

So awful, first couple of months were fine but suddenly getting all sorts of slow speeds and connection problems. Have tweeted, rang and generally complained to try to get some response but now they want us to pay for an engineer to come out. The internet goes on and off about 4/5 times an hour making it impossible to watch anything via download and I can't even bear to work from home. Absolutely appalling and totally frustrating, just counting down the months till we can get out of contract, it's that bad that we are considering paying the fine to get out of it. They have no answers for why the connection is so intermittent.

I’d like to make you aware that I have started to live blog my sky chats to show the world what I’ve had to put up with. Details of how to find the blog will be put here soon.

I’ve had sky broadband problems for the last 20 weeks and counting and sky just keep prolonging it. sky claims to go above and beyond to satisfy customers but in my case that doesn’t seem like it includes me.

I was speaking to Ashley the so called sky expert this morning who refused to log the poor customer service as a complaint and went on to say that what I consider a complaint is not something that sky consider to be a complaint.

Had sky tv and internet installed 11 months ago. Within 2 months the box stopped working properly and had to be changed. Been fine since although we have been unable to purchase any films, including the free one offered at Christmas! However, the broadband has been unreliable from day one and the issues have yet to be resolved. Have had numerous engineers out. Each one blames someone else. The internet connection kept dropping so eventually it was slowed down so much that it is now almost unuseable! It solved the problem of it dropping but at times we can't even put a photo on FB as the signal is too weak. Tried to watch a film on catch up tv and it took 8 hours to download to the box.
Over the last 11 months we have been promised various things.... free line rental until the problem is resolved, for instance. Yesterday sky rang me to offer a £7 discount. This was raised to half price line rental for the next 3 months (£28) but I would have to sign up for another year. Now WHY would I do that? Have had unreliable and slow internet since being with them and they think I'm going to stay? NOT A CHANCE!!!!

Sky used to be the best company for tv and broadband, well worth the price (back then). All i can say now is very over priced for a very poor quality service and terrible broadband speeds. Very unreliable aswell. Been with sky for over 8 year and its got that bad im looking into other companys to go with. Not good sky, not good at all.

I have been in dispute with Sky since September, get passed from pillar to post to discuss and resolve the matter and still not got nowhere! A friend of mine had both sky and BT broadband and tv and advised that that they will not be renewing their contract with Sky! I can honestly now see why! Sky is only interested in Company satisfaction, not customer satisfaction.

Internet Speed is super slow even though we pay for the maximum (we've been said that they can't do anything about it). Avoid Sky.

I had just moved to Swansea from Brum and went about getting a Sky broadband connection. What a huge mistake. It took me over 4 months from initial payment to sky actually setting up broadband at my residence. Customer service was appalling - i spent numerous hours - being pushed around various departments to no end. It was humiliating, cost me financially, emotionally, and had to take time off work many times believing that a technician would arrive and did not. If I could provide a lower review, I would. I have lived in west Africa, the Caribbean, Philippines and even there such rubbish was unheard of. Honestly, Sky is the worst provider in our country.
