After 4 months of complaining about the speed no joy, my neighbours all get 20mbs and I get 5mbs, on my last call they said they probably pay more!! So the speed according to the PO is based on what you pay not location. Trust me use another provider that has a customer service that is worth a call.

Hopeless. 0.65Mb/s download speed from a check I just made! Even at peak time this is bad. Loses internet about every two days. Technical support just said it must be testing the line! What every 2 days!

RUBBISH! If I am still within the cooling off period I am cancelling. Been 'switched' on 1 week and internet is still not working. You email - no response, you call them and sit in a queue as they are always 'experiencing high call volumes' now I know why - it is terrible. Save yourself time and don't even bother with it!

Had 38mb broadband for 2 years had a few small problems but still reliable, signed up for another 12 months at 79mb/81mb and it has been absolutely crap, I have been trying for almost 4 months to get it fixed. Phone up support wait about 5 mins to speak to someone then while they are going through some checks they will hang up and they don't call back, so you start again with someone else they apologise and then tell you they have no record of a previous call? Can they take some details which is very annoying. They try to explain that I have 9 things linked to my broadband that is why it is slow they are the exact same things I had linked to my 38mb broadband and they were all fine, I have 9 items but only 1 or 2 linked up at any time, I also have 15 lights in my house but they are not all switched on. 1 year ago I would have recommended them now I would tell folk to steer well clear. Customer Service for the most part is shocking there are 1 or 2 that try to be helpful but they are the exception to the rule

Do not sign up to this isp. Live in rural area and was with bt, Internet wasn't too bad but didn't like the price hence my thoughts to sign up with the post office. Worst decision ever! Speed of 0.5mbps, to update a game on ps4 told me 80hrs.
Was stuck with them for a month, had to go through a series of tests on a laptop to prove how bad the speed was and they finally allowed me to cancel. However even though they let me cancel I'd still payed £80 upfront and when asked for my money back I was told I would get a £5 good will voucher. So one months Internet which didn't work cost me £75.
To top it all off I got a call from someone claiming to be tech team from the post office who told me they would fix my WiFi. That took remote access of my pc, turned out to be a scam and I was robbed of further £100. Makes me wonder if post offices servers are hacked as these people knew full well of my technical issues.
Id never sign up to them again for anything. You get what you pay for most of the time and in this case it proved to be true. Don't be tempted by there offer £20 or not, you don't want to paying for something that is useless. Please avoid.

Happy with set-up, and with the broadband itself.

Problem came at end of contract. I was emailed a month in advance (8th July) warning me the price would go up. I no longer needed the broadband so decided to cancel. The email said I needed to email support to cancel. I did so that day, and received an automated acknowledgment that they would be in touch within 5 working days. They never did.

Fast forward a month to 7th August and I received my next, higher bill. I called up for what I thought would be an easy phone call - you forgot to process my cancellation. They proceeded to then do my cancellation, but the cancellation team can only process the cancellation as at today, with a 15 day notice period thrown in so they want to bill me to 24th August (is that 15 days?). I pointed out this was pretty awful as I had cancelled a month previous. They said all they could do was cancel now, and I would have to then raise a dispute after the final bill had been sent.

I rang back to customer complaints, but was told the same, with some extra nonsense thrown in that I should have added my personal details to the email. The email made no such stipulation, and as I had forwarded the original email they had my name, account number, email and landline number anyway. Plus they had acknowledged receipt.

So I've spent 50 minutes on the phone, doing their work for them, and I will still have to monitor my account for when the money goes out and ring back and take more of my time to get money back that is mine. There seems to be no sense from them that this was their problem, that I had cancelled with more than adequate notice so I owe them no money. They seem to think it's perfectly reasonable that I will monitor my account and spend hours on the phone when this is their maladministration. I have complied with the terms of the contract, they haven't. That their systems are rigid, and they have no means to circumvent them in the event of an error is not my problem and it shouldn't fall to me to do their administration for them. I warned the first operative I would bill them for my wasted time, and I think I should, at my usual freelance rate.

I can't imagine what it must be like to deal with companies like this if you were elderly, mentally disabled, or otherwise inhibited from understanding what was going on and fighting your corner. I am from a process, compliance and IT background and I find it impossible.

I have received the cancellation email, which also threatens me that if I shut down my direct debit they will refer me to debt recovery, with the ensuing impact on my credit rating. If I end up with a bad credit rating for their incompetence I will be suing.

Zero stars. Zero morality. I am a pensioner and full-time carer who left Fuel Broadband immediately on finding that PO Telecom was taking over and planning to double my basic charges of £20.30 per month, violating my Fuel Broadband contract which had fixed them until November. I had to change my phone number of over 40 years to escape from PO Telecoms. Despite doing this, PO Telecoms sent me a leaving bill for £42.77, presumably to cover the few days it took me to get out, and now have Rosie Peters of CREDITLINK ACCOUNT RECOVERY SOLUTIONS threatening me with “more severe actions to recover the amount outstanding” with “recovery costs … added to the balance significantly increasing the outstanding amount”. Shameful. I look forward to beating them in court.

Chose the Post Office thinking it would be a reliable brand. Signed up just over a couple of years ago. Wasn't expecting it to be fast due the area which I had just moved into. It wasn't, and was constantly going off. Renewed the contract after 12 months even though it had noticeably increased to in price to find the service had gone worse. Was going off more often and was getting even slower, every time I rang them they said they had tested the line and the fault was internal. After the second contract ran out I went on Go Compare and got a good deal with SSE, nearly half what I was paying, plus it included mobile calls. Been with them around three months now, internet has never gone off and the upload and download speeds are fantastic. The Post Office router is very cheap looking compared to the SSE, maybe that's part of the problem.

Go with the post office if you dare. Never again in my life will i ever go back to them. They are a joke and mislead and conned me out of £60. I tried to join them on the 27-11-19 by confused.com which stated i would get £60. Which i tried 3 times and ever time i got to the end and make the payment. It went potty and said i had to phone them to start it. So i did and then when i asked were my £60. Was. They said you don’t get the money because i had phoned them to take it out. Which when i checked the T&C number 2 stated you don’t get the money if you phone up to take it out. So i can see now why it would not let me make the payment on confused.com. Shocking way to con you and the speed is all over the place and keeps dropping out and when you complain, if you can get to talk to them, they will do nothing at all to sort things. Just keep saying ever think is good at they end. Another thing i also found out when i speed test on Ookla is that they use talktalks net work. Another company that i would never use again and is most likely the reason why the post office is so bad and have so many problems. BE WARNED and AVOID

Signed up for Broadband, engineer was supposed to come and connect the line on the 27th, phoned them when he was a no show, got my router in the post then they called back claiming the appointment had not gone through. So now they want another £6 delivery for a new router even thought i have a brand new one in the box and i now have to wait another 2 weeks for an engineer to come out.
Should have listened to the reviews and went with someone else.

I am honestly incandescent with rage... I have never ever experienced such poor service or abysmal internet speeds.

Having switched from BT, We received the Post Office router only to find out that it was faulty so had no internet connection for 2 weeks; Engineer came out and confirmed this, ordering a new one.

The connection is now so slow I can barely do a speed test and when I do I average 0.5mbps ; I literally get a faster connection tethering to my mobile phone.
Imagine going back to the days of dialup with freeserve... well I actually think that was better.
In 2019, how the heck is it acceptable to wait for a webpage page to load?

Called Post Office up just now, who basically said it was my own fault for signing up to their everyday value package. Tried to sell me fibre.
However I had already signed up to SKY. He said well you will have to pay £140 to cancel early... I said I'd gladly pay £240 to sever ties with you charlatans.

I wish in hindsight that I had read these reviews and I wholeheartedly echo everything said here.

Please please stay well clear of them and don't be lulled into a false sense of security because of the Post Office brand.

Would give a 0 star review if that were possible.

I was promised upto 9Mb speeds when I took out the contract (my previous supplier I was getting around 8Mb), although I am less than 2Km from the exchange and should achieve 12~15Mb the line is of very poor quality. The Post office broadband service as advertised assumes an ADSL2 or ADSL2+ service but in reality it is a very old G.DMT (1st gen ADSL) service not capable of more than 8Mb. I was misled into believing I would be getting a similar speed to my previous supplier but I now suffer lots of drop outs and speeds of less than 5Mb at times and never over6 (it was worse on the router they supplied). The post office are misleading customer by promising speeds that they know are impossible to achieve. Avoid this service if you view on demand TV. My set top box crashes when the Broadband is lost and rarely can I view a full program without a 5 minute interruption! The PO just tell me there are no faults on the line and completely disregard my complaint.

Not impressed. Had the router delivered to my local post office as I didn't know if it would fit through my letter box, they promptly sent it back to the sender! Rang them and got them to send it to my home, knowing I would have to pick it up from my local collection centre, they left it behind a bin! Connected it, and now can't even check my lottery numbers, apparently 'it's a known problem'! Great if you work from home and can't access sites that you depend on. Not impressed.

This is likely to be the worse broadband on planet earth. It deserves worse than a 1 star review in all the review parameters above.
I have been on a running battle with them since December 2019. Apart from the the broadband being horribly slow, there is no effective communication between the customer service and account teams. Signing up to this crap was the worse mistake of my life. DON'T make the same mistakes FOLKS.

I wouldn't advise using post office. To list the issues:
    - They are more expensive than other providers
    - Their broadband was very very slow; customer service were powerless to help.
    - We switched to fibre and this seemed to help but it turned out six months down the line that the engineer who completed the switch had messed up the wiring in the exchange which rendered us unable to switch ISPs.
    - They put a bar on our number for no reason, when we asked for this to be lifted, it later turned out that they had failed to do so.
    - When we notified them due to a price change that we were ending our contract with them they failed to end it and continued charging us.
    - It took an engineer booked by another ISP to discover and fix the fibre issue caused by PO in the first place.
    - I am still waiting for my final bill and for the three months of payments to PO while I wasn't with them to be reimbursed.

Broadband too unreliable for my pensioner mum to use to check her email.
Uses her mobile phone instead after finding her glasses etc as it is still faster than waiting for the off chance the DNS is working properly.

Postoffice customer service blamed it on the wifi connection (its a hardwired desktop by the rj45 plug).

I made the mistake of paying upfront for a years line rental because of the Post Office brand was something I associate with trust.

They then jacked up the prices only a few months in.

The internet doesn't work reliably enough to check emails let alone to watch bbc iplayer so called up to resolve, long wait can't leave them else they charge £180 termination fee and keep the advance line rental.

Out right lies by customer service and also said that I shouldn't cry about the price increase as its only a few pence! If its only a few pence to them, then how about the post office don't upset pensioners for the sake of a few pence, those "few pence" make a big difference to individuals (pack of custard creams from lidl is 23p, a 1min call to a landline now with post office is 25p so you can see my mums logic and hesitation to call if she sees the bill).

Even if you are a severe masochist don't sign up as it gives them more revenue to beat us non-masochists tied into the 18month contract

Extremely poor all round. I'm reluctant to give even one star. My deal is for Standard Broadband(up to 17Mps). I check the speed regularly and frequently. The best I've got is 14.4 for about 3 days - but only after making a formal complaint! Also, there are frequent service interruptions. Don't touch PO Bband with a long bargepole, I'm transferring to a new supplier ASAP.

After cancelling line rental with the Post Office they still took the money even through they said they wouldn't.
I have had to make 2 calls to them to ask for the refund and one month on i'm still waiting.
There customer service on the telephone is appalling they don't listen to you, would not recommend.

Please please please do not go with this company unless you want a headache. Post office is good for posting and nothing else ! Honestly....the worst costumer service and the slowest broadband ever! The only reason I’m with them is because my provider Fuel gave up and sold out to the post office. I’ve inherited a nightmare. I currently have no broadband for a week now and all I get told is, they will reboot it, which they can’t seem to do. They’ll be quick to send the bill though I’m sure. Huff!

I really think reviews on this site should only be comparative, i.e. relative to the competition.

We used BT for 2 years with average but acceptable speeds (ranges from 15-35 mb/s with hardly any drop outs). But their bills went from about £25 a month to £40 so I switched to P.O. which is costing me £20 a month. I was told when I did this (by both BT and P.O. actually) that they all use the same line unless you pay for fiber optic so there should be no difference in service. I can say after 2 months use this is completely accurate. My broadband speeds have not been affected at all.

In addition to this, P.O. sent me out a router and switched me over on the date they said they would, without me having to do anything after the initial phone call. It was incredibly easy, one month my bill was from BT the next it was from P.O. And the online account BT gave me works perfectly as well, for changing settings and such.

This is why I have given them 5 stars for everything. As a service provider you can only work with the tools available, people like the Post Office aren't generating broadband in a factory, they are just connecting us to the line. Relative to the area that I live in, P.O. are doing a great job for me and I am super glad I changed over.

Well what can I say! The Post Office probably is the worst company that you are going to deal with. No phone for three weeks then no caller display. Internet is the slowest I have come across. The caller display issue is such a small issue that should have been sorted within a couple of days. But no three weeks later still no caller display. The customer service is non existent. Literally. I was told there is no customer service department!! Good luck if you choose the Post Office, you’re going to need it.

If I could give minus's I would, worst broadband I have ever used, basically paying for nothing as it buffers constantly making anything impossible to watch via amazon firestick. Can't wait for the contract to come to an end. AVOID AVOID AVOID !!!!!!!

I have never written a review before, let alone a 'bad' one. But seriously, I cannot recommend Post Office as a broadband/phone provider. I signed up just over a year ago. In that time I have had to increase my package simply so I can use basic broadband without it buffering constantly. I cannot use my Amazon firestick at all. When the land line rings, the internet drops or freezes. This is not my computer (a macbook pro) problem, it is something to do with how the Post Office set up their s system. The router is rubbish, it is flimsy thin plastic and gets very hot. The connection cable with it is only 1m long so it has to be set up quite low down, not good with little people in my house. Customer services take at least a week, sometimes two weeks to respond to even basic requests. I have not been able to access my online billing even once! I asked today for a paper bill to be sent to me so that I can check exactly what I am paying for and guess what? I have to pay for it! Also, just two days ago received a letter telling me my monthly fee is increasing by £ 20 per month. Something to do with the discount that I was given as a new customer coming to an end. The monthly outgoing will be more than Sky or BT or other providers for a far worse service. I am voting with my direct debit. Cancelling the account. Will do without broadband and phone for a month or two and go to another company that is reliable. Sorry for such a negative review, but to be honest, if I were to be brutally frank, my review would not be publishable!

Do not go for Post Office Broadband - prices are put up as soon as you are in a contract the coverage is very very poor - go with BT and get a good service for the cost you will end up paying with the Post Office unfortunately I read the reviews after I entered into a contract which was a very stupid bad move.

Signed up for a package which said in the documents 11 abs average speed. It has been getting progressively slower with buffering. Put this down to everyone working from home. I complained in Feb 2021, they said it was fine there end, so I left it. As it has been really bad I complained again and insisted they sent out what they call a cube engineer. He turned up, and had to order an Open Reach engineer. Open reach said I had 3MG and there was no super fast available as they checked the BT box nearby. I complained, got it escalated to the idiot that they call a 'Manager' he said it was stated in my contract I had 3MG. It does not so I said I wanted proof, then he told me to go onto my online account. Told him I don't have one, never had one and he was just reading off a hymn sheet and not taking any notice of my account. They he said he could give me compensation backdated to when I received visit from an engineer which was 3 days ago, + £10, what a joke. I then said I want it escalated to complaints dept. they don't give an address complaints have to contact me, so as I am totally fed up with the phone calls and the BS I said contact me by email. I will be cancelling the account once this is resolved as I imagine they will say they are not liable once account is cancelled. Rubbish customer service and rubbish service. Avoid at all costs.

This broadband must the most ******** broadband in the whole world. Don’t waste your time even thinking of getting PO broadband. I rather use my phone data than use the PO internet. It is a waste of money and time.

    Hi all,

Internet speed constantly drops and crashes.
    Completely unreliable.

After 3micro filters and and engineer visit still having the internet crash. I requested I could pay for an upgrade to fiber. Unfortunately sir we do not provide fiber in your area .

They offered to cancel the contract free of charge in writing . Then I see my bank accounts has been hit with 2 transactions for £74 over the Christmas period.

Never use this low life company.

The people on the phone are friendly enough they just have to deal with the company bad products.

I have had PO Broadbnad for a year now - no issues whatsoever. I don't often use multiple devices, but I have streamed and played games online seamlessly.
