Worst provider I've ever had! I've spent a year switching it off to reboot than more times I've had hot dinners! I've had to use my mobile data when at home cos theirs is always off line! This day and age when things like your heating relies on a good continues connection this is the pits! I actually dont use my wifi much probably no more than an average of an hour for buying and checking news emails etc. But I've not been able to even do that most days and I've used my phone data more than my home wifi which is so wrong! Maybe cheap but I would never use them again and I would never recommend them either! Difficult to set up new account as send you log on and password separately but in my case they didn't send at all and it goes on and on...you've been warned!

Truly truly awful. We switched from another provider and have regretted it hugely since. The speed is so slow. The service drops off all of the time. The customer service is atrocious. If I could give no stars on this rating system that would be a closer reflection of our experience. It may be cheap, but it is just not worth it.

worst connection since the days of dial up modem. Tried connecting wirelessly and also with cat6 cable direct to the router. Both poor and keep dropping connection. They initially screwed up the installation and left me with no Internet connection for 3 weeks.

Haven't had such a poor internet service since the old dial up modem days. Incompetent installation. 3 weeks without internet. Customer Services attempt to pass the blame elsewhere even when you have evidence to the contrary. Can't wait to change providers.

I have been with Post Office for a number of years but have to say the broadband service dreadful.
Each time I have no service I am told it is internal. The last time we had no phone for several days. The engineer called after I said I would pay the money to get it fixed.
All the sockets were opened up, the engineer was in the loft checking things out. I often wonder if these people go into their own homes with the large boots on and traipse all over the place.
Eventually, he decided it must be in the local exchange and he could be gone for quite some time. After a few hours he returned to tell me
the fault was in exchange which had been upgraded just recently and some engineer had let a piece of wire or metal drop into our connection causing the fault!!!!!!
After this time when I rang they want to get engineer to call and check the house again!!!! Why not start at the exchange where the previous fault was detected.

I am looking for another provider as Post Office is just the pits.

Biggest load of crap. I am a young adult living by my self for the first time so I don’t have a lot of money to spare on WiFi so I thought I’d try post office, even if it might be a little slower. But a little is a BIG understatement. Not only does the connection drop constantly, doesn’t stream videos fully on laptops or phones it also can’t connect to consoles. When I try to ring the only answers I get are that it’s to do with where it’s plugged in at on the wall, which is a huge scam because I work in IT and I know very well there’s only a small difference if plastic is intercepting the connection. THIS IS A SCAM TO GET MONEY OUT OF THE ELDERLY AND PEOPLE WITH LOWER INCOMES. Do not buy, it’s so crap I’ve just upgraded my data package instead so I don’t even have to bother with it anymore.

If it were possible to provide a negative star review I would. Just over a year ago, I joined Post Office for land line and broadband. In that time I have contacted them at least twice a month by phone and by email. To date I have only received two replies. I stupidly paid a year line rental up front. I had to increase my payments that started at around £25 per month to nearly £58 per month, to try and get a decent internet speed. Last week my phone was cut off 'in error' a week early. I am leaving Post Office for a better provider, going back to my previous one, who were not good, but 100% better than Post Office! I was told the phone line being dead was because my phone socket was faulty, or my phones were faulty. Neither of these scenarios were true or correct. I have only had one conversation with Post Office in the last few days. That with a lovely person, sounded like Newcastle, England accent. She was superb and tried hard to sort out my phone line, but ended up frustrated too. I had to use my mobile to phone the 0345 number and asked them to call me back, the caller did this. I then, yesterday, received a random call on my mobile telling me my line had been shut off accidentally in error! I know am being told I have to pay an early termination fee. Yeh that will be right. I wish them luck and will see them in court if needs be. Shocking, lousy, awful provider of internet and phone. Only thing they are any good for is the postie who is kind to my elderly Aunty who lives remote and rural. Need land line to contact her and it is connected to help call. So Post Office, would I recommend? No I would not.

If you are thinking of getting PO B/band DO NOT DO IT. The customer 'service' is lacking, technical support awful (they refer you to customer service girls who 'don't know , sorrry'. It is talk talk under a n other name apparently. They say it takes 3 days for the internet to 'settle down' when new router is connected and then it should work. Do not hold your breath. It connects for a few minutes and drops. No one at PO knows how to change the security settings - it comes with child guards etc so limits what you can access (if router is connected long enough for you to connect to anything). I want to return to old provider and pay the extra - I got service, proper technical support when needed and did not have to wait 10 minutes listening to awful music on the 'phone before I got a human to speak to me. Seriously, do not use these people - there is no support, no speed, no help, no advice, and no internet connection.

Honestly if I could give 0 stars I would.
Incredibly slow internet, uploading any files usually causes the internet to go down completely.
Customer service department was okay until we got put through to tech support who hung up on us. When we rang back they were rude and unhelpful. We went round in circles with them for months. Cannot wait to leave once our contract is up. They charge £200 if you leave early. Save your money & sanity & avoid them

Absolutely rubbish wasn’t happy with the service what so ever internet was always down most of the time couldn’t connect. When phoned to say it isn’t working Kenya saying need a new connector from phone lone to modern which I had to pay for and still had same issues. Eventually decided to go with a different company and post office made me pay exit fee of over £80 even though it wasn’t my fault it didn’t work and didn’t give me the chance to dispute it really wouldn’t recommend anyone using them

For the first month everything was fine, then my connection got steadily worse until one weekend - nothing. I rang on the Sunday, the man was very helpful & not at all patronising. I did all the things he suggested & it worked almost straight away. 2 weeks later everything is great. The reason was that I'd started turning off the router at night! So simple.

Disappointing, to say at least. I have more drop off in a week than with Plusnet in 3 years. I will leave PO broadband as soon as the contract will end (in a year or so). They must improve or many customers will do the same.

The availability of Internet services is so limited it unbelievable. After suffering for nearly two years with limited services and no actions taken by the Post Office I can only say avoid the broadband it's worth paying a little more with another provider. Customer services have several stock phrases and rarely deviate from it. Do not consider this supplier.

To anyone considering having a broadband account with Post Office, please be aware of the followings:
I would like to bring the following points to your attention:

    1. When I initially contacted one of Post office Telecom customer representative – and prior to set-up my account - I enquired about potential cancellation fees such as early termination charges occurring when entering into a contractual agreement for the provision of Premium Broadband services by Post Office Telecoms but was not made aware of any of these by their customer services representative.

    2. Referring to their Terms & Conditions, in particular section 33.2 After the service starts I have fully respected the cooling off period of 14 working days, during which I am entitled to cancel my account with Post Office Telecom Services without penalty/incurring additional charges. Despite all that, they charged me an early cancellation fee of £240.02 which is unfair.

    3. Furthermore I reminded Post Office of the existence of the Consumer Rights Directive of 2011 that obliges member states to give purchasers the right to return goods or cancel services purchased within two weeks from the receipt of the goods, for a full refund. The Consumer Rights Directive is implemented in the United Kingdom by the Consumer Contracts (information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Post Office refused to take this directive into consideration which is against a breach of the law.

    4. I would also like to highlight the fact that their Terms & Conditions do not specifically state the amount that will be charged as an early termination charge nor is the method of calculation to be used to arrive at the amount of any early termination charge. In fact, their Terms & Conditions in general, and in particular regarding early termination charges, are extremely vague and unhelpful and lack the transparency required in a contract under which penalty or additional charges are intended to be charged.

All to say, utter utter poor customer service and a total disrespect for customer rights. Avoid Post Office broadband like the plague at all cost!!!

I hope people may look at my previous posts and take my advice. The advice is simple: AVOID,AVOID AVOID the Post Office for broadband. The speeds render the whole thing unusable, I was without a connection for a month - was promised twice that I would get a refund and didn't get a penny - CROOKS the lot of them. I even got threatening calls from a debt collection agency for money that they owed ME !
Don't touch with a bargepole and how the regulator lets them get away with this I really don't know.
AVIOD, AVOID, AVOID THE POST OFFICE BROADBAND. You have been warned.

Just to update my previous review....
I first reported loss of service on the 11th November (it first failed on or around the 7th November).
After being told constantly that my service "would be fixed the next day", I eventually got use of my line back on or around 20th November. So for almost 3 weeks I was without a service, I got no useful support and even now I have broadband back the speeds are pitiful.
My one and only piece of advice is to AVOID THE POST OFFICE PHONE AND BROADBAND at any cost. I may be compensated for the downtime but for the time I lost waiting for customer "support" to answer me, the phone calls I made (I had to use my own mobile) - nothing. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID.

PLEASE, PLEASE do yourselves a favour and don't go with the Post Office (P Off about describes their attitude). The broadband except in the middle of the night or at 5am is pitiful - less than 1Mb and sometimes even less than that. You can contact them, they will tell you to run tests, they may tell you to buy a new micro-filter but the result is no better. My daughter was unable to do her school work, iplayer etc was unusable. As I write for the second time this year I have NO phone line and NO internet.
PLEASE save yourselves so much hassle. They may be cheaper - you get what you pay for. AVOID !

Unfortunately I did not read reviews before switching from previous broadband supplier to PO., and did not know that their router does not connect to wireless printers which I depend upon. Nor do they mention this anywhere. They also seemed to think this is acceptable and advised me to buy a 3rd party router. The speed is ok most of the time. Do NOT buy PO broadband. My intention to save money has backfired and can’t wait to leave.

I am coming to the end of my contract with the post office (thankfully) I cant say any thing good about the internet service they provide it has always been slow and the router would drop out several times per day, when I complained I had to do some tests with the phone socket and I was told an engineer would contact me within 24 hours, but it was a week before an engineer contacted me and said their was nothing he could do, after complaining the internet drop outs became more frequent and speed fluctuates from 2.4 mbps down below 1 mbps its becoming nearly impossible to connect to the internet, I gave my new provider my contract finish date but because open reach engineer will be coming to connect me 9 days before my contract ends the post office are going to charge me for early termination of my contract even though I have paid my bills up to the contract end date

I switched from Virgin because their price was more than I could afford. The Post Office price was ideal, but I very quickly learned that nothing else was. The fastest download speed I've ever recorded - when actually downloading is 2.1 Mbs/s. And that's from the fastest sites - the ones which were runnnig at 48 Mbs/s plus with Virgin. It's frequently less than 100 Kbs/s (ie close to dial up speeds), though strangely if you run one of those online speed checks the result is always around what the adverts promise - as if they can detect the check site is running and turn up the bandwidth! There are also frequent drop outs - where the service suddenly stops for several minutes. This happens at least once a week that I'm aware of. Customer service can't/won't do anything about it. In summary the price is great and the product is truly rubbish. As soon as my 18 month contract is up I'm out.

Have had Post Office Broadband for 30 days now. Have never seen a download speed in excess of 2.1Mbs (It's often under 100kbs/s!). There have been frequent dropouts (no broadband!) since the first 10 days. The only time I've seen results that match the advertised speed is when I do a speedcheck, though on the last occasion it returned a download speed of zero Mb/s. Good price rubbish product.

Decent customer service from this broadband provider however their internet service is utter dog muck. Terrible ping currently getting 50MS with another 25MS jitter and trust me you can tell. I know it's the provider as I was with another provider before switching and never had any problems with my ping. Unfortunately I can't recommend PO Broadband at this current time, I know understand why they were so cheap.

Have download and upload speeds of less than 4mb today so struggling to work. Post Office customer service say the router is fine so the problem must be my end.
They want me to do three speed checks over a 24 hour period and them report back tomorrow.
Complete waste of time contacting them as I need help today to enable me to work.
    Terrible customer service.

Awful. First they didn't send the router and claimed they did. Then they claimed they sent me another router, but when I phoned a third time it hadn't been done. Finally got the router and the service started 4 days late. Service wasn't strong or fast enough for my needs despite claiming it is, and I now cannot work from home as the system is too weak for the computer system I need to use for work. Even for normal, personal use it crashes at least once a day. Wish I had gone somewhere else and will be cancelling the second I can get a better company in. Avoid at all costs.

I got no broadband service from Post Office during the 5 mths I was with them as they never managed to get the BB up and working. It cost me hours of time calling them, lost bookings for a holiday cottage, (with no wi-fi people cancelled) and time travelling to try and sort out the problem. In all it was very stressful. Please DON'T go with the Post Office. In the end they only gave me a refund of £50 which didnt even cover the DD bills they had already charged me for this.

It is not possible to communicate with these people. The have a customer help line!!! Hahah! No help, no accurate record of what is said, no possibility of speaking to someone who might understand why you are Nnoyed they have had a debt collection agency send you an email about an account for £15 they told you not to pay because your final account was being prepared. They don't listen. I would never use them again. From the appallingly low broadband speed to the four copies of every letter they sent coming through the post to the numerous phone calls. It is like banging your head against a wall. What makes it worse is they have been trained to say " is there anything else I can help you with today?" Hahah if it wasn't so bad it would be funny. Buy your service from somewhere else, whatever they give you free it just isn't worth it.

PO as internet provider have failed me (and I believe others) miserably at a time when we in UK are in virtual lockdown and depend on Fb/Social Media and other IT facilities to check on family and friends - and in my case, also vulnerable clients!!! This is day 3 of Safeguard issues and limited connectivity - no contact, no explanation, and now telephone line can't take any more calls!!!!! Unacceptable way to treat paying customers......Time to move providers me thinks

I have just spent the worst 3 weeks as a Post Office Telecoms customer, we had our switch on the 21st January 2020 and then spent 3 weeks with no Internet. I called 8 times and was told on 4 occasions that an engineer was coming out. I finally cancelled my contract after 3 weeks, They very nicely told me they would not charge me a cancellation fee, which considering they broke the contact on there end was a joke. An engineer finally showed up on 11th February and had the issue fixed with 1 hour, the exchange in town had no Internet connection as it had been unplugged. This could have been fixed at day 1 if they had send engineers out right away. No Compensation was offered and when I asked I was told it is not possible.

    Never choose Post Office Telecoms

    AVOID AT ALL COST
I signed up for a £19 per month unlimited broadband and free calls package, an 18 month package. I’m 12 months in and total charges have come to £421.55 instead of £228 that’s an over charge of £193.55 so far.
According to customer services my monthly contract is actual £19 plus £3 for free evening and weekend calls. Considering I worked during the day, very few calls are made during the day so how my monthly bill can average £35 is beyond me. The internet reliability is dreadful and the speed very poor. Sadly I’m stuck with them for another 6 months and WILL be changing providers. Please don’t use the P.O. for broadband and telephone services, it will cost you a fortune

A truly disgusting service. Not only do they insist upon moronic CUSTOMER based "line-tests" when a problem arises, but their so called "engineers" seem to be non-existent. DO NOT be fooled by these under qualified "customer service members", internet drop outs as frequent as 18 times an hour ARE NOT common place on all broadband networks. Awful excuses to cover up an awful service. Would give 0/5 if it were possible.
