I signed up for EE broadband and Phone package before I read any reviews (breaking a golden rule but I was so fed up with TalkTalk that anything had to be better!). The line activated one day after the quoted estimate, it has been constant ever since with no line noise or disconnects. I am for some weird reason getting almost twice the speed than my previous provider (around 11.2mbs instead of 5.4mbs)this must be down to their Brightbox router which also gives decent wireless coverage in a four bedrooom house. Despite initial fears I am a very happy customer!!!

My broadband worked fine for the first few months but then the router packed in. The router was still connected to the internet but the Wifi transmitter had died as it was no longer broadcasting an SSID. I phoned EE and explained the problem and that I needed a new router. Still the customer service advisor insisted on carrying out line tests and asking me to reboot the router! After 20 minutes he finally agreed that a new router was needed.

The new router worked ok again for a few months but once again I had a problem. My router was receiving 12mbps but my connected devices could only connect at less than 1mbps resulting in painfully slow speeds. Again the customer services advisor was useless and asked me to reboot the router and ensure that it wasn’t net to a fridge or fish tank! I explained that no settings had changed since my connection speed dropped and I had tried rebooting all devices, refreshing connection settings and rebooting the router. This all fell on deaf ears as he ran through his script and wasted my time.

The Brightbox Router 1 has proven to be poor but the service at the other end of the phone has proven even more painful. I am now in the process of moving provider and would not recommend EE. As an existing Orange customer with a monthly phone contract which is up for renewal soon I would have expected them to make some effort to keep me as a customer and smooth the waters. They didn’t so my broadband, home phone and mobile will be going elsewhere.

Been an Orange mobile customer for years and sold the ee home broadband package recently as part of a "combine and save" deal when I upgraded a mobile. The service is SHOCKING! Broadband service is very unreliable. On and off all the time due to maintenance issues. The landline doesn't have a call divert facility which is a real pain for us. Customer service is awful. They promised to look into the contract then dropped the whole case because the call got cut off, and they never got back to me. The deal also promised BT wifi anywhere - this doesn't work either. So all in all not a good thing to say. VERY disappointed - expected more.

Firstly to the people who dont do research first and find out the calls are weekend only or they arnt getting the speeds they expected do research first.

I expected around 40meg (mbit/s for uou people that dont know the difference between a bit n a byte there are 8 bits in a byte so effectively you download at 1/8th the speed your bandwith says, then its bytes) i get 38, my only floor with EE is they throttle P2P data at certain times but they specialise in gaming so thats a priority. As for the bright box if you configure it properly and allocate your devices with the apropriate bandwith its a decent router. Conection speeds of 144mbit/s on my mac which is decent dor a b/g/n router. The main problem with EE is they dont explain things very well with simpletons, none IT literates and people that just dont bother researching something and expect someone to know everything about a product in a day of training.

Do your research first, get someone that knows about networking to configure your router if you dont have clue then you will be happy with your service.

I had been with Orange for years but now it is EE the broadband speed and reliability is terrible. Paying for 8 MBps and lucky if I get 0.5 MBps. The speed has been going this way for the last few months.

Joined EE approx one week ago. Was informed change would be seamless!!!!
What a joke. No one informed me of the date of change but I mistakenly assumed the router would arrive before I was disconnected from my previous provider. Not the case. Service abysmal. Server down. Phoned yesterday, told if not working in 2 hours phone again. 24 hrs later, phoned again, told if not working in 2 hrs ,phone again. Am returning to my previous provider.
Do not join this excuse for a provider.

I signed up for EE homebroadband on the 6th of September (promised to reveive it within 10 days, I received the router on the 28th of September. A few days later yet another of the same router arrived. I believe the speed is the worst that I have come across. It is a joke. EE in affinity with Orange are yet again tricking people on signing for contracts that deliver pure rubbish. EE is a new package around something very bad and totally shambolic Orange company and customer service. Why do you think they totally changed name? Because Orange lost all market confidence. It is a shame that there is no protection for consumers to get quality services.

I have used several ISPs, definitely broadband with EE is the worst one!!! being on fibre optic with them I had same physical speed as on DSL broadband- had to wait for streaming on youtube even had to refresh some of the web sites as they haven't display correctly- have downgraded to DSL- during this process they have cut me out of the Internet for week time- customer service is useless!!! provided service is horrible!!!- waiting till and of my unlucky contract and will go for other provider- avoid EE for all cost. Also- they says unlimited- is not true- you can't use P2P software during peak hours- thats mean you are limited for P2P from something like 9am till 2am so service is unlimited for 6h only!!!! even their policy says 4.30pm-1am (typical peak hours)- lies!
advertising them self as a biggest UK ISP- they should add: biggest and worst....

Not reliable very poor service have to call them up daily and still can't get it fixed. When we call them it takes about half hour and 5 transfers to the right team. They always say we will fix it but they don't unreliable. Its better to avoid this company absoulutely a waste of time. Wish there was a 0 star rating can't give them any lower.

Simply terrible service. Since the broadband was purchased, over 6 weeks have passed. The line installed is still yet to be activated and the broadband box has only just been delivered. The only thing bright about EE is the name of their broadband box. I have nothing good to say about their service. The previous phone call included being put on hold for 20 minutes to attempt to register the account. This is unbelievably abysmal.
