Up to 14 October this year i never had an issue with my broadband, then our phone line went dead and hell ever since.
BT fixed the phone line as apparantly they had a cable theft. But when the phone line came back the broadband spped was rubbish. BT say not their fault and SKY (my isp) dont seem to understand. What is really strange to me is that when Im on the phone (as in making a call) my broadband is excellent, as soon as i hang up it goes to rubbish to non exsistent!! Any help or ideas?? My postcode, RG6 7DN My isp: SKY (broadband max upto 16meg package) Phone Line with BT |

Hi There
Your Telephone is owned by BT, and your broadband is unbundled and owned by Sky Obviously something is wrong somewhere, as there has been a cable theft then it sounds as if the problem is more likely to be BT's. You need to get back to BT and keep on at them till they agree to look at the situation again. Thanks Admin |

Administrator mate, sounds like IPStream, Not LLU! if BT Line, but sky broadband.
Dude, This does sound like a filtering problem, either at your end or on BT's Patch panel. It could also be perhaps a High Open Fault (Break in the line), but with a minimal break. the increased voltage on the line as your phone is in use could be boosting the signal enough to reduce the amount of lost data on the way. Does your phone line occasionally pick up ADSL signal (wooshing/squeaking and beeping?) This indicates a filter issue. replace yours, remove all extensions etc. sky boxes, alarms from your phone line. if no improvement, speak to sky, and ask them to contack BTWholesale. No Noise? Let's eliminate High Open:- Try Double Filtering your phone line. (a second filter into the 1st filter into your master socket. put adsl in filter 1 (in the socket) and the phone in filter 2 (plugged into phone out on filter 1). this should increase the voltage on the line enough to improve the speed. Neither of these work? You need to talk to Sky and bug them until something is done about it.
