Default Pipex servce since Tiscalli takeover

Am I alone or are there others who are noticing a poorer service provided by Pipex since the takeover by Tiscalli?

Web pages which done function ie my billing, my webmail, upgrade pages
Authentification certificates out of date
Poor teleservice support from overseas call centres ( when I know one of the offices is only 5 miles form where I live!)
No one wants to take resposibility for you calls being passes from department to department and then hfining out I have to dial a completely different number not found on their web site!
And to cap this all off you have to pay through the nose for them to do this to you.

Piex custmoer for 5 years and considering to move to a better provider.
Any comments or recommendations on providers would be nice

I'm a Pipex-Homecall customer and asked for a MAC today - for much the reasons you outline. Only inertia has kept me from moving a long time ago. I was previously with an ISP bought out by Tiscali and had immediate problems. From having perhaps one spam a week I had as many as 50 in a day. Queries to support staff at foreign centres resulted in confusing and ill-considered responses. So I left to join Homecall. At first it was a story of good service. Then there was a noticeable slowing and irregular, increasingly frequent drop-outs. The call-centres (now run by Tiscali) have been totally unhelpful - often asking for basic information repeatedly and often finally addressing a non-problem and leaving me frustrated. So I'm off.

You are not alone. I have been a Pipex customer for about 8 years and up to recently was happy with their service. I use my broadband line for important work so it is important to me to have consistent up time for 6+ years this happened. When Tiscali took over things started to go downhill including loss of email for about 3 days.

I was paying 24.99 for a 1meg connection and I know this was over the odds, but it worked and worked well. However, before Xmas I received a letter saying that my monthly sub was being reduced to 14.99. Now, this does not happen for nothing and since this time my broadband speed is little better than having dial-up.

I would be very happy to go back to paying 24.99 as whilst this was not cheap it was value for money. Now it's just a joke. I am considering upgrading to a better Pipex package if I don't get tied in and if that does not improve things then I'll get a MAC.

Inetrestingly my "new" cheaper package has a contention ratio of 50:1, and I think my 24.99 sub was 20:1. Painfully though, I can't be doing with calling them to talk about it, as they just don't know what they are doing unless they can read from a script.

I am amazed that Tiscalli is even still in business....

Cool Re: Pipex servce since Tiscalli takeover

Pipex was taken over by tiscalli.Tiscalli swopped over there isp servers with pipex.Thats why pipex is now no good.
Pipex and tiscalli are going bankrupt,no banks will give them anymore money,So even as your reading this, they could be closed up for good.
I was with pipex for years, they were good, until tisscalli stepped in.I left pipex because for poor speed, and disconections all the time.Im now with O2 16mb broadband no download limit with adsl+2.Just £14 a month.Every time i do a speed test, its allways between 14.5 - 12 mb broadband speed, with 900k to 1.5mb upload speed.
