Default Changing due to throttling of dl's any advice?

Hi
Currently on BT pay about £20 plus about £20 in charges as going over the 2gb limit.

We use it for surfing, watching tv progs and downloading off Bit Torrent (legal stuff of course).

Can you recommend anyone that is £25ish a month, good speed and fairly unlimited who doesn't slow things down on bit torrent (or send you nasty letters, not that i have received one...)

cheers

Hi There

It really depends upon where you live, as not all deals are available in all areas.

A good one to look at based on what you say is O2 broadband, but they may not be in your area.

If you post your postcode here we can check in your area, or email your postcode to our broadband expert at expert@broadband.co.uk

Thanks!

Cool
My postcode is M169PT

I thought that O2 would quickly join the Big 6 in throttling torrents.
By O2 broadband, do you mean Bethere?

Unfortunately O2/Be are not available on your exchange. O2 and Be use the same infrastructure, but are marketed and run as separate companies. As far as I know they currently do not throttle torrents, but this could always change.

You can get on your exchange

BT Wholesale resellers
AOL LLU
Bulldog LLU
Talk Talk LLU
Sky Broadband LLU
Tiscali LLU

Other than torrents do you have any other specific requirements?

Cheers for the info

The basic requirements are
12mth or less contract
8GB mthly limit
nice speeds
no throttle of torrents

The connection is mainly used by me to download and my housemate watches TV shows, so we are creaping over our 2gb BT limit

- Downloads between Midnight and 8am don't count towards your allowance
- They don't put any restrictions on peer-to-peer
- Traffic for Pro customers is prioritised on their network

I take it I would be paying on top of this my BT charges, so I would be looking at about
£27 a month ?

Cheers for the help

Yep, you'd have to pay line rental on top.
