I moved to them from Pipex when Pipex kept capping me for downloading to much, they have been fine for me.

Angry Re: Tiscali

Bad news. Pipex - Tiscali. Both the same supplier since Tiscali bought Pipex in June 2007.
I am now moving away from Pipex as their support has gone down the drain. Generally it seems Tiscali are no better.

I have just got my MAC code to transfer from Tiscali - I am not to pleased with them. I payed for 8 megs - for first 6 months got 1/2Meg, when i complained I was put up to 4 Meg (this is the right speed my line could handle) worked brilliantly for a couple of months. Now back to square one, ridiculously slow - takes 5 mins to load a web page. I'm fed up with my line being unreliable and my speed going up and down, so I have now decided to move.

If you pay for your Tiscali by direct debit, check your bank statements! After I had discontinued my contract with them, they continued to take out the monthly payment from my bank account. I had an awful time in trying to stop the payments being taken, and reclaiming my money back from them was a nightmare. This went on for about six months. If you pay by direct debit, you have inadvertantly given Tiscali the OK to automatically take the money each month from your bank account, and the only thing your bank can do is to reclaim the money back for you. Your bank cannot stop the transaction... BEWARE!

Tiscali are terrible - don't even think about it.

This is how I signed-off my account with them recently...

Dearest Nildram (Tiscali),

I migrated to Plusnet tonight and I obtained INSTANT 2Mb+ broadband on the same line and the same equipment. I guess that makes you all look pretty stupid doesn't it?

Well, thanks for not bothering your collective ****s over the last 32 days. For all the trouble you have caused me, not only will I NOT recommend you to my friends and business colleagues but I will actively seek to tell the TRUTH about your account throttling and deter others from signing up to your retched so-called "broadband" service.

When did it all go wrong? You were once one of the best ISPs in the UK and I used to sing your praises. 'Tiscali' is a word that springs to mind...

By the way, I've cancelled my Direct Debit but if you think I'm going to the trouble of "officially cancelling in writing", you have another thing coming. You'd probably even get that wrong too so I'm not going to waste my time on it.

Oh well, enjoy the job-hunting; as I imagine Nildram is going to go bankrupt VERY soon at the rate you're going... Well done indeed

Thumbs down Re: Tiscali

Beware Tiscali are watching your every move.Everything you download and the programme you use etc.Are your bank account details safe ? what if you view adult sites ? At the end of the day they are an invasion of privacy and should be fined.

Thumbs down Re: Tiscali

Do Not go to Tiscali under any circumstances!

I signed up to Homechoice who were brilliant until Tiscali bought them. I upgraded my Tiscali package to include all calls and BT rental about 10 months ago. Six months down the line I found that they hadn't succesfully transferred me away from BT. They spent about the next three months trying to do it but now I cannot get anybody there to talk to me.

So the upshot is that I have been paying both BT and Tiscali for the same service and still do not know whether they have transferred me. I was promised a refund and have sent all the BT bills to them but now I only get automated responses to my emails.

On top of that I lose connection to the internet after about an hour every time I use it and am sick of having to constantly reboot.

I am about to stop the DD once I can decide who to go with next. Any suggestions?

There seems to be alot of negative feedback in here which makes tiscali look really bad. Which I dont think is an accurate representation of them, they are the 3rd biggest supplier in the UK so that must account for something. It shows that there must be alot of happy customers out there!

In any case, all of the new broadband, talk and digital TV packages they have now can save you hundreds of pounds a year compared to BT. And all of the talk packages have the line rental included in the price so you dont have to pay that seperately.

Personally I think Tiscali is a great choice and has saved me alot of money, you get too many people rushing to complain about a service and not enough people praising it.

for anyone thinking of getting a new package, wether it just be broadband or phoneline or digital TV, just give tiscali a look, heres a link UK's best value broadband, talk and digital TV

theres no contract for the first 3 months so if you dont like it just get rid of it!! But its definetely worth a try!

This is just a cheap attempt to get people to click through your affiliate link!

Don't click on his link, don't go to Tiscali ( I am just trying to leave them).
