UK Line Rental Issues! :(

Hi everyone,

I've recently moved out of home and into a house share with 3 other people I just met. It's a really nice area and the landlord told me there was a phone line there so all I needed to do was order a service with BT.

I've been in touch with BT and the end result is, the line "may" have been setup by BT but it's not serviced by BT and will be with another cmopany. They can't tell me if they did or didn't setup the line, or which company it is with.

I asked my landlord if he knew which company it was with if it wasn't with BT and he told me he doesn't know.

I've not really got a leg to stand on here, I need a phone line service to get broadband at home, and I haven't an idea where to begin searching for which company it is with. I need broadband to do my work =/

Any help would be appreciated.
There is a logo of a "T" on the phone box, where the right part is made of dots rather than a straight line --

Do you have a dial tone on the line at the moment and can you make and receive calls on it at all?

The T logo you speak of sounds like an old BT logo...

Forget the other wires, just order a telephone from BT, they will probably charge you an installation fee.
