I have been tasked with getting Broadband for the charity I work with.
We are located in a building currently owned by a much larger global charity, they pay all the bills including the telephone bill. There is a dedicated telephone line coming into the building, which they get the bill for. The larger charity have agreed to us getting broadband, but at our expense. Now how do we do it? What we want is Broadband, and to have the bill for only the broadband to come to us. That is, we want the bill for the broadband only, as the bill for the telephone line is currently being payed for by the other charity. Is it possible to get a broadband only deal whereby the bill for that broadband comes directly to us and not the owner of the telephone line. If this is not possible, will we need to get a new telephone line connected, and thus a new telephone number, and thus pay for line rental and broadband? I'm a little in the dark about how all this works. If anyone can help me, or point me in the direction of information that helps me understand I would be very grateful. Thanks. AL. |

Hi AL.
There are several ISPs that offer standalone broadband where you keep your line rental with BT (or move it to another supplier) and only pay for broadband. If you run a postcode look up on the site (Compare Broadband In Your Area), deals listed without the house icon come without line rental. You'll see you can get stand alone broadband deals from providers like BT, Plusnet, Orange, AOL, Sky and Zen. Although O2 and BE's deals have the house icon, their line rental is optional. Plusnet is guaranteed to have the cheapest stand alone broadband in all areas: Plusnet You'll have to contact the ISPs to confirm whether they're willing to bill someone different to the owner of the line. I hope this helps. |
