Angry Re: How do you rate BT?

Shock horror is the message that is coming across. I have gone thru all the posts and i for one am not at all shocked at some of the stories. I work for BT and have done for over 10yrs and i have seen how a company changed and changed it has. I also have 8mg package but can assure you that is no where near the speed that ends up at my pc. Now being an engineers i have checked all possible problems that could reduce my bb rate and found none, i stay 1.4km from local exchange on a newish copper network, my pc is upto date but i still find i am getting lesser all the time. i have done the speed tests at various times - 7am = 6.5mg , 2pm = 4-5 mg, 7pm = 0.4kbps. why because every body uses there pc at night once they get home, some people have bt vision, a fault with a sky box will drag it down if plugged into the bt network, but still when you call bt faults they do a line test and get fantastic results. they dont understand that the test is showng the throughput of the line from exhange, yes if nobody else used there pc that night i would get 8mg. the test does not show them the speed you are actually getting at that time, so why can i go to Be broadband and get 16mg min 24mg max which is on the same line that BT use and from the same exchange for £17.50, i get mines free from work but i for one will be changing. BT was at the forefront for technology yrs ago but all the little cp's are now getting the better equip into the exchange and giving better rates of upload and download and this will be the downfall unless BT spend the money and give the consumer what they want and that is fast internet access and the sooner we get this the sooner BT gets back up where it belongs.

BT UNLIMITED MY ****

im capped from 12pm till 12pm monday to friday
im capped from 8am till 12am weekends
ive argued with them hung up on them cancelled my bt vision which was quoted to be 23quid but turned out to be 41quid which they wouldn`t let me pay then tried to add £7.50 in charges
because im running 2 xbox 360`s (me an my boys) accounts im a high user so im punnished for enjoying my 8meg broadband and somehow i managed to download over a 100 gig a month which is nearly impossible
i tried to cancel my account for them not providing me with the 7meg i was getting during the night to the 1 - 2 meg <<angry man i was getting during the day they told me i would need to pay full amount left on my contract ...........................
i would just like to say unless you need up to 8meg for browsing web pages avoid bt at all costs cause there idea of unlimited is completely different to mine just waiting for the 23rd of march so i can phone them up and tell them where to stick their 25quid a month rip off option 3............................

For the past 2 days I have been run around from pillar to post trying to sort out a connection problem. Do yourself a big favour and avoid BT at all costs - their customer service is just awful!!!!!
