Customer service has varied between excellent (twice), and bang your head against the wall please use some common sense, why has this simple thing taken hours and hours and multiple calls to resolve, please just put me on to a senior and this would be instantly sorted (3 times). I even messaged to say please tell your supervisor you're doing a great job one of those times.

I guess it's people not getting paid enough to have control over an area big enough that can effect change.

After utterly useless customer service in getting a router delivered (several months, although they did compensate me), the broadband service has been excellent for the past 9 months. Zero downtime, and never any buffering even with multiple devices streaming HD. I don't know what's going on in the cases of others but I have had absolutely no issues with the performance.

I have had Vodafone broadband for over one year now and recently tried to arrange a house move. Vodafone are unable to supply at my new property and after what they have put me through i`m glad.

I gave them the date I was moving, which was in July and that was agreed as my disconnection date. They assured me that it would be 30 days before i disconnected which would take me past my move out date. 2-3 days later, they have disconnected me and have now told me it is up to 14 days to reconnect.

I rely on internet immensely for my job like most of us. I was bounced around different departments and "managers" and told to expect various phone calls throughout the day which did not happen.

So now with 3 weeks to go until i move, I have no internet thanks to the incompetence of Vodafone. I was also told at one point I was going to be compensated and be put through to the billing team...never happened. I am going to progress forward with legal action.

My phone is also with them and i will be expediting a move from their awful service.

Although I can't fault the broadband and home phone switchover, their Home Broadband customer service is appalling!

I am unable to access any online details for my new broadband account and they have managed to block any access to my online mobile account. Trying to call them is a joke with the options taking you round in circles without connecting you to a real person. The webchat is next to useless and only made the situation worse. In desperation, I have emailed the CEO, Jeroen Hoencamp and asked him to rectify the situation. My original email to him was 9 days ago and as of this morning, I haven't received a reply nor any contact at all from Vodafone customer service. I have emailed him again today. Let's see what happens now.

Really annoying switch to VF. First of all they changed our number which we had had for 40 years. I rang to complain and was told that they could sort in 3 days. I then rang again shortly after to clarify another issue and was told it would take 4 weeks to get our old number back but no guarantee. Fortunately the first person was right! My first bill was just for a couple of days use so no surprises there. The second bill had over £40 of call charges despite having asked for the £8 anytime calling feature. Their website was down - not an unusual occurrence. Spent half an hour waiting for someone to answer in their call centre and gave up. Eventually got a response from an overseas call centre. They said that my order had not stipulated anytime calling and although they would add it to my contract there was no way that they were going to refund the overcharge. Also be aware that their "Manage my account" app is only designed for mobile use - it was difficult to get this set up as a broadband user. I am locked in now - I hope things get better.

After 7 months of misery and lots of bad things Head Office resolved my complaint.
I'm getting Sync speed 68 Mbit/s and 65 Mbit/s Real download speed during Peak Hours.
So far best broadband I ever had
On sad note... you will need your own router plug in Voodoo box to enjoy trouble free experience.

I have only started with Vodafone Broadband - And I signed up as I have Vodafone for my Phone and everything else so it made sense to me.

Overall, I have been very happy with Vodafone on everything so far... BUT then I got my first broadband bill!

Partly my own fault for not doing enough research... But lets look at the Advertising!

They say 'Join Vodafone Broadband, and you will get NO LINE RENTAL FOR YOUR LANDLINE'

TRUE - VERY TRUE... What they DON'T tell you is that you WILL have a BROADBAND LINE RENTAL CHARGE!!!

So where I thought my Broadband was going to cost £23 a Month - Its actually About £35 a month with the additional Line Rental Charge!!!

Its still cheaper than my previous provider - But IT IS BLATANTLY FALSE ADVERTISING AND I AM NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT!

Needless to say, Once my 18 Month Contract is up - I will be looking to change once more! VERY DISAPPOINTING VODAFONE!!!

Originally a sky broadband customer, moved to vodafone as attacted by being cheapest on the market. i now pay £20 per month for 38mb. Initially it started off a bit shakey , they canclled more order without telling me i only found it they done this when i rang up after not hearing anything for 2 weeks and not having received my router. Anyway a fews days later i received my router and had an activitation date a week later. On the day of activation it said i should be up and running by midnight, i checked the following morning and still no internet. I called the next day first they told me it was to do with the parental settings so they changed something on the router i was actually at work at the time so didnt have a chance to test until i returned home , to find it still wasn't working. so i called up again and they asked for the serial number of the router which i provided and they said the router wasnt registered on their system! They registered the router and within 15 minutes i was online. Since then it has been working fine and getting same speeds if not better than when i was with sky. After a shaky start it seems to be ok, touch wood!

Decided to go with VP due to a long standing issue with my phone, they kept at it and finally resolved the problem. Was not happy about the length of time but customer service eventually work reallly well.
Now to the broadband, another reason was the free gift more later, speed is 30mbps which is great, I am on Suoerfast 1, really pleased.
Reliability I have had to reset the router once so again completely happy.

Overall satisfaction - well I am not satisfied as my promised free gift of a Sonos 1 speaker still has not turned up. The last communication I received was that it will be delyaed another 15 days. Called their promotions team and although a very nice chat no commitment of a delivery date. Apparenty they are very popular and VP are waiting for supplies. They could go to John Lewis or Amazom as they seem to grow on Christmas trees there. So VP if you make a sales promise good Customer Service depends upon you fulfilling your side of the bargain or at least communicating in a meaningful manner.

Reasonable broadband, let down by awful customer service. When it was working, it was fine - and problems were few and far between, to be fair. But as soon as anything went wrong, I knew I was in for a load of hassle; their customer service reps are absolutely clueless. The last straw was this morning; my internet had been slow for a couple of days due (I found out eventually) to re-installed Google Drive syncing a load of files which I hadn't asked it to sync. But Vodafone customer services made no attempt to discover this; just fed me a load of rubbish about changing the broadband channel via the app, and how it would be "need 24 hours to adapt to the new settings" (which, handily for them, got me off the phone!)

I decided to leave Vodafone due to issues with my mobile phone not my broadband. Prior to letting them know I was leaving, I'd had excellent broadband speed and reliability. The day after I informed them, my signal started to drop out, I had issues with lag, my broadband speed slowed. A coincidence? A strange way to get good customers to change their mind.

Avoid, not sure where they get their router from, but the download speeds are very temperamental, I was on talktalk fibre before I moved over as I thought it might be worth while being a mobile customer as well.

My talk talk speeds never changed nor did the connection ever drop. live in a 1 bed flat and the vodaphone connection struggles to keep up, sometimes the internet speeds are fine,a lot of the time it takes for ever, can’t wait to go back to talktalk

I am moving home in 2 days after exchanging. Trying to get through to the home broadband department absolutely disgusting. Was on hold for 35 minutes this afternoon when my phone cut out, the same happened again this evening, trying for a third time where I have been on hold for 48 minutes so far. I have had chats where no one can help and said I have to ring the number which I have been on all occasions! No other way of contacting them. On hold for over 2 hours in total. A complete Joke!

Disgusting customer service. Endless hours spent on hold waiting for a stupid advisor only to have to answer 10x security questions. Then the person can't help and transfers me to the wrong department who then transfers me again. The guy then tried to charge £3pm for caller id which i refused and he was a right rude fool, I asked him to put me through to complaints he said no three times then hung up. Then on hold 30mins again and no luck so hung up and tried again and then their stupid machine doesn't work when you call and then called again and on hold another 10mins so far and waiting.... Utterly useless!!!!

After being a customer for over 2 years I renewed my contract so I could get a better price. After 3 failed attempts and 6 hours (in total)on the phone somebody who actually knew what was going on arranged it. Said they can to cancel my existing line and provision a new one. There would be no downtime as the cancelation would happen on the 2nd of Dec and the new connection will be ready by the 19th Nov. Woke up this morning to find zero connectivity. After 2 hours more on the phone I've been told they cancelled by existing contract last night early and I have to wait until the 19th for the new one to kick in. I work from home and have terrible 3g/4g signal so creating a hotspot is really not possible. I'm totally screwed - thanks VF - way to treat a loyal customer.

I was highly recommended by friends to go with Vodafone for my broadband connection as they were always satisfied and never had any problems with the company. Upon vodafone due to take the first direct debit payment, the money was made available by myself in my bank account to Vodafone from 21st May the 1st payment date, this was available until 4th June until the bank put the money back into my account as it was not taken! Upon the 23rd June I had a email as well as a text message to state that my account was in arrears, I was alarmed to receive this so I rung customer services. I spoke with a team member who advised me that this was the banks fault, and also tried to make out that the bill amount was never made available, of which was not the case. The following day my broadband connection was cut off and I also went into my bank to find out why they did not release the funds, the branch manager assured me visually on my account that the funds were available and Vodafone chose not to take the money! I feel the memberw of the customer service team and complaints department are rude, unhelpful and provide you with false and unfactual information. I also feel that they had a cheek to offer me £10 and then £15 compensation for the inconvenience, I explained that I feel that this was unacceptable as It caused me financial stress/difficulties as well as financial loss due to having to go into my overdraft to pay the full amount as well as the arrears off, so I could have my broadband connection turned back on!! After all this is not the customers problem if Vodafone as company do not take the payment for this service! Otherwise the speed and the reliability is great! Vodafone sort out your customer care and service as it is very poor, unprofessional and ignorant!!

It took over 10 days from the date given for the service to become live, was given different reasons everytime I contacted their help line. The speeds to the Hub are fast but then not the same from the Hub even with a ethernet connection. As its still fairly early the speeds do drop now and then, hopefully it should stabilise soon.

Joined Vodafone less than 2 months ago from Plusnet. Supplied router very good and easy to connect. I joined after a Uswitch review but the main problem since has been contacting anyone at Vodafone other than a bot or people in India or Egypt and I was initially charged more than the advertised Uswitch deal and still need to sort out problems with my account which is not easy to "see" on the Vodafone website.

I was late in my bill month, so fair enough service got cut off. It cut at 1am while I was working on something, tried to pay the bill through the app on my phone, didn't work. After going round in loops on the automated phone service, it hung up on me when it said it would take the payment.
I got through everything the first go but because I took 3 seconds to get the expiry date on my card, it just cancelled and hung up. Never thought it'd be so much hassle to pay a company.

I found it shockingly difficult to speak to anyone who knows what's in the package I signed up for. Everyone I've spoken to about an item which didn't arrive in the post fobs me off to a different department, then i'm put on hold for 10mins in between each question. eventually they explain I have to wait 10 working days. Just another way to stop me trying to resolve the problem for a while.

The main problem I have with Vodafone is their absolutely AWFUL website. It often has internal server errors. It forgets my passwords when I save them, and gets confused between my mobile and broadband accounts. It's pages are often down for "maintenance".
    The broadband is pretty unreliable.
The customer service agents are polite but are severely limited by rubbish procedures.

Although the broadband speed was decent and we had coverage throughout the house. Vodafone customer service relating to broadband is terrible, you have to listen and select endless options before speaking to an advisor. I have never missed a payment in my life but down to the incompetent of Vodafone call center staff I now have 1. Vodafone also try to make it as hard as possible for you to leave them when you want to switch providers.

Ordered broadband contract then immediately cancelled after finding out their poor customer service.
It took a whole morning to actually cancel the service which made me realise I was doing the correct thing.
2 weeks later I received an email to say that my service was being connected at a certain date and my hub was to be sent out in 2 days. Another phone call to confirm that it was an error on their part.
Still got their hub in the post. It's going in the bin. Lucky escape

The speed has been great and the reliability is generally quite good. But just don't do it to yourself...

It's all well and good until something goes wrong. Then you have to go to their website and deal with TOBI - the online chatbot. You'll spend hours being told your query doesn't exist before eventually reaching a person. At this stage, it'll feel like you're being scammed as they asked you to enter segments of PINs into a chat box and divulge all your personnel info. Eventually, they'll need to transfer you to another person who answers one question and then transfers you back to the same person previously, after you've queued for 10 mins between each. Eventually, the conversation might finish and it'll offer you a transcript of the chat, which will seem like a good idea, so you can refer back to it in future, but also to show off the time stamps to all your friends to prove you did actually spend 1hr 45mins of your life chatting to an online help system to get to the other end and still have no internet. They'll all think you're so cool. But you won't be able to do that, so you'll never earn your friend's respect because Vodafone will never send you the transcripts. EVER. I've asked for that at the end of every chat and received none. It's a good system.

They do have an automated telephone system as well if you're the type of person who prefers hearing voices as you're passed from team to team and never really given the answers you need. Each to their own.

In summary, I'll never be a Vodafone customer again because I value my own time far more than they do.

I wouldn't bother joining these, obvious we get times we need to reset the router but this router just takes the living piss, the internet cuts off every time you reset it were it takes you hours to get it up and running doing daft things having to hold the reset button in whilst powering it on, I'm cancelling my service in January Vodafone will not be getting no more custom from me. Never found it so bloody difficult resetting this stupid backwards router. I'd rather go unlimited data on my SIM than there crap broadband

I do live in an urban area in Devon with poor Broadband speeds per default. The switch to Vodafone went smooth and also the broadband speeds are fine (depending on the length of my line to the exchange). However the router re syncs upto 5 times a day. The line is long but stable and recently tested by BT. I did not have any issues with plusnet before the switch. This is something which is a no-go for anyone who needs reliable broadband. All streamings, chats, online-games will be disconnected. Please do your homework and get your Network going. Vodafone was a warrant for reliability in the past. But it looks the time is now over.

Shockingly bad customer service, which I unfortunately have to deal with due to connection issues. Every bad customer service cliche is here - good luck staying sane when trying to deal with them. The automated call-direction software alone will transport you into a kafkaesque nightmare.

Just switched from Plusnet using the porting facility, who while the broadband transfer went well, Vodafone managed to demonstrate great incompetence the porting process, whereby I lost my landline phone number in the transfer, - and yes the Vodafone customer services admitted my transfer included landline number porting. So thanks Vodafone, be sure to keep the loo rolls handy while everyone else wipes your asses putting it right!

Vodafone router is not compatible with Sonos, clearly they don't mention this in a sales pitch. After 2 days of trying to connect my Sonos I found a long forum stating it's a know problem with the Vodafone hardware and still no fix after a year. Vodafone customer service were fully aware and advised me to leave while in my cooling off period as could be a very long time before resolved.
Wi-fi connection also unstable. They only state they are a wired broadband service and don't support wi-fi. Certainly not up to date with technology.

Switching to vodafone was a nightmare, they basically lied because they didnt know what was going on, blaming the previous service provider for my issues.. basically there was not enough room at the exchange to switch so I had to wait, they told me the other provider was not releasing my MAC ... complete BS.

Their website is dreadful tends to always be down and its difficult to find any information about outages at all.

As for the broadband service its been ok with speeds pretty constant but reliability is pretty poor and at times high pings. Have to say though its actually one of the better WIFI routers as most get some sort of signal around the house but still need to use repeaters.. for the price probably the best out there at the moment.

Switched to Vodafone Broadband in April 2022 and was given an installation date of 18/5. It didn’t happen and I was left without functioning broadband for 23 days. I had to escalate to a formal complaint; a) to find out what was happening and b) get a new installation date. Also c) go into one of their shops and beg someone to tell me what was happening and a back-up because I was desperate. The shop staff were great actually. I rely on broadband as I work from home.

All of this this because I was unable get any response from Vodafone through their customer service portal TOBI about why the service hadn’t been installed or to get a installation new date. They are impossible to communicate with though this portal. I eventually got compensation (I think) and they acknowledged their failings, but it was an awful customer experience and really inconvenient.

I hoped that would be and end to it - the broadband quality is very good - but I got a nasty surprise when my first bill arrived.

When I signed up for their broadband pro service in April it was because they were offering an attractive deal and I’d read positive things about it. My first bill this month showed I’d be paying almost twice the amount I’d agreed with them on the sales call.

I contacted their billing team through their TOBI webchat portal. I don’t know why I bothered. It is the worst customer service portal ever and achieves nothing. Took well over an hour of being passed around to advisers who had no idea, resulting in me feeling enraged and none the wiser, but evidently paying lot more than I thought I would be.

So I used the formal complaint route over email again. They responded quickly and I now have what I think is a satisfactory resolution, but there’s always a plot twist with Vodafone, so I’m still wary. They agreed to give me a fair price, but I’m furious that I had to bargain really hard to get it after I had taken out the original contract in good faith based on a price promotion they had offered me.

My conclusion is that Vodafone are fundamentally dishonest and an incompetent telecoms provider. They promote an attractive offer to you, and when you take it up, thinking it’s fixed for the length of the contract, they can decide without informing you, that the offer is no longer available, as it’s time bound. Even when it’s their fault that your broadband wasn’t installed when they said it would be due to their own serial incompetence. They don’t confirm anything about the price in writing either, something I should have picked up. It seems they can also withdraw an offer whenever they feel like - in any circumstances - so beware.

They acknowledged all of this, and the customer complaints handler who rang me was helpful, but they always are, and nothing ever changes. Now I think about it, I’m not even sure I’ve received the compensation for the first complaint. So many emails and confusion. I’ve lost track.

It’s astonishing that they are getting away with this. Ofcom really do need to step up.

The Guardian website 28/7 has an article by the journalist George Monbiot describing his experience of trying to cancel his mother’s mobile phone contract after she died. It’s a different part of the company but still the same appalling customer care. Many people have commented under the article about their experiences with Vodafone. They are an absolute disgrace. Do yourself a massive favour, avoid Vodafone. When my contracts end I will stop my custom. A long way to go but already in my diary.

Overall the broadband is ok but I’ve had problems connecting certain devices. My epson printer would not connect but was fine with regular Vodafone so I had to buy a new printer. My Amazon max firestick wouldn’t connect either so had to return and purchase a regular firestick. Once my contract ends I will be changing as there is obviously something not right if certain devices won’t connect even with help from Vodafone Technical.

I am waiting 32 minutes in a line already, trying to get to customer service. Luckily this gives me plenty of time to write a review. Oh wait, I was randomly dropped anyway. Gotta que again.

My broadband is down. No clue why as it worked fine but seemingly broke overnight.

Tried getting help but online I get paired with a useless chatbot. Area checker states all is fine (so I guess my problem is my problem). And finally you can't get help from a real person because to Vodafone that is expensive.
