Can’t fault the service, same if not better speed than I was getting with BT (I think they put a block on it at peak times). The router is Equivalent to BT smart hub in that I can get good signal in every room. This was not the case on virgin and sky who I have had in the past.
Rang up and was though to an agent based in a uk call centre in about 3 mins and that’s a rarity these days!

It has been a week since I am having problem with the internet. The connection keeps on dropping. Called customer service today but the guy was like you need to buy a handset or borrow a phone from your neighbour for him to check what is wrong with the internet.WOW He did not even apologise once for the inconvenience he bluntly said it will be fixed by tomorrow and if not get a handset and call us again. Horrible customer service!!!!

Reported internet and wifi down two dsys ago, asked when would it be fixed, was told engineers there now they did not know when it would be fixed and sugested I walked round to the exchange and asked the engineers my self. Still no Internet today Sunday tried to contact UW but no one there told to use the Internet. Very poor customer service being told go find out yourself we dont care and we dont know.

I called to make initial enquiries and these lot signed me up to a full package even though:
    - I gave no authority to set up an account
    - I hadn’t moved into the property.
    - I gave no bank details,

Trying to speak to anyone to remove me from their system meant being passed from person to person, took over an hour, and I am not convinced that this is the end of the matter.

In my third year with UW and as yet no problems. Fully supported to change from BT and service the same as with BT, but less expensive. Initially, my anxious moments were well supported by UW team. They helped me when the old line required replacing and explained who to contact in BT Outreach. My usage is restricted to laptop, tablet and mobile, which all function very well using this broadband.Bills easy to access.

Been with them since February and I've not had many problems but the ones I've had have been rectified quickly. Going over these reviews all I can say is wow what a load of crap!!!
I used the cash back card accordingly and not only did I zero out my current bill but I am in credit for next month. The free yes free lightbulbs are worth it when one blows I'll get a new one with no charge.
The gourmet society card is worth £80 and to be given that as a bonus also confirms the rubbish articles on here.
Oh yeah not only that I've referred 23 people and I've received £460 in shopping vouchers for my referrals.
If you have any brain functions other than a soggy biscuit and work your savings in the right way you'll not only save money but have a more reliable service.
I'll admit the internet speed isn't as fast as virgin or bt direct but for the house holds needs it runs an xbox one, ps4, PC, laptop, sky q box hard wired while also running 4 phones, iPad air, galaxy tablet, 2 kindles and 4 smart TVs wireless!
So as you can see I'm happy with the service I get. And I'd recommend that if you see a sales representative for this company go and ask them this "so how much can you save me?"
I was being cocky when I asked that question and the response after the appointment was not only was I saving £63 a month £756 a year but I'd be getting lots of bonuses as I messaged above.

The connection used to drop sometimes and I got lots of stuttering and freezing with streaming films, but my real problem was with the routers breaking after about a year. The standard router model struck me as very poor quality and I did not want to pay £2 extra a month for a much sturdier-looking model. They would never send me a spare modem so that I could have it in store til the existing one broke. I found the 9am opening time for the phone-in customer helpline rather late. The staff I spoke to were always polite - it wasn't their fault I found this company no that easy to deal with.

Terrible, terrible, terrible along with awful, inadequate, poor, delay everything to ensure you need to pay £250 cancellation fees. Do not sign up ever unless you want no service and pay £1000 for the privilege.

I have been very satisfied with UW. I have everything in my package except the budget card. When I have had a problem it has been dealt with promptly and in a friendly manner. For elderly people it is if you can afford to pay slightly more for the convenience of everything being under one number. Plus the big bonus is that they are in this country and not India. Convenience and peace of mind some times costs that little bit more. Finally when your family are left to wind up your affairs it’s only one number to ring. Satisfied customer no chasing around every year for new deals.

I’ve just had a review of my utilities by UW to find out I’d be about £30 a month worse off , it all seemed like a bit of a pyramid selling scam to me, make sure you read terms and conditions to see what you get charged for

This company are extremely good at apologising and blowing smoke off your backside but absolutely crap at sorting out any problem. I was supposed to have Broadband and phone running a month ago but OpenReach failed to connect me (beware this godawful company too!) I have spent the last 3 weeks sitting on the phone (my mobile of course) trying to get anyone at UW to listen to my complaint. All they kept doing was telling me my phone and broadband were live when they clearly weren't as I don't even have a phone line or socket yet!! When I tried to cancel, their sales team said I'd have to pay an early termination fee. Vast numbers of staff listened to me rant on and yet very few of them actually called back, actioned anything or kept me updated. Not even a non-computer generated email to keep me updated.
I have finally managed to speak to someone there called Paige in Customer Services, who has at last cancelled without charge.

Trying to phone through to the right department at UW is practically impossible and the amount of time I've been kept on hold music is unacceptable. Having read other reviews here about the poor levels of customer service I cannot say I'm surprised. My whole experience of dealing with this company as been stressful and frustrating. I'm still with a phone or broadband and now I am going to have to start over with another provider. Probably Virgin. And when I get a moment I will switch my energy from them also.

Ive been with this company for two years. Last year they sent me a large bill for only gas. I called them about the leaking meter and when they sent the engineer they engineer told me that they would sort out the problem. They replace my meter and then they told me that they couldnt erase the large sum of money for the gas usage and they told me they would monitor the amount of gas i would spend over 12 months. The sum after the 12 months was very low compared to the original bill. So i told them i would pay around 50 pounds a month however they told ms they made a desicion to make me pay 350 pounds a month. I was shocked. They wouldnt listen to me and kept pressing on that i had to pay more than i needed to. This company is dodgy and a rip off do not sign up with them at all. The costumer service was terrible and rude they didnt listen to me at all. Ive been having problems for the past 2 years and im sick and tired.

Do not sign up with this company. We have had nothing more than problems with our broadband service since joining in November. Our connectivity with Sky prior to this was excellent but thought we could save money by combining our energy bills and broadband with one company. An engineer from BT Outreach has confirmed the problem is with the router and he receives numerous complaints from UW customers with the same issues as ours. The customer service team at UW have been extremely unhelpful so far. Why in 2019 have this company been allowed to get away with this. I hope the company can be investigated and save any others from the stress we have endured

Unfortunately I have to agree with many of the reviews on here. Had quite an out of date BT router/BT broadband previously, "upgraded" to the best router UW offer. Have never had problems with buffering and low connectivity before. Rely on this to work from home and now have long stretches in the day when I cannot work. Also new "state of the art" router does not get anywhere near as far into house as old "out of date" BT router. Not liking the sound of comments that it's difficult to get away from them. Want to do so ASAP, maybe should have read the smallprint...? By the way, only UW distributor who actually gave whole name on here was Karen Bailey. I'm sure quite a few of the glowing reviews on here are from people who make money out of distribution.

Before I start, I can categorically say I am not a UW distributor. I cannot understand how so many people are complaining about poor broadband with UW. I have been on the mid range broadband and router for a year and have never had less than 30mbps. My in-laws are on it too, and also have had no issues. The only thing I will say is it doesn’t work well with bt hub routers for some reason as I tried it when I left bt just out of curiosity. We have 3 ps4’s, 3 computers, countless streaming sticks and we’ve had no issues so suprised by the negative comments.

I joined this company after 3 months the monthly payments increased and were not affordable. They blocked me from leaving them even after confirming it in writing to me and each time they found a way to send me a final bill and if I complain they threaten me with county judgements and debt collectors evil company! I can't get rid of them even though I have another supplier.

I'm on standard broadband which is averaging about 4-6mbps for ethernet, quite normal for ADSL connections, however on wifi the broadbands atrocious. The speed In the mornings is usually under 1mbps and 2 in the afternoon. The wifi can go down at any given moment. On the rare good days I get 4-5mbps. There are better options out there for broadband.

Absolutely shocking. I signed up to this company a couple of years ago, I immediate found the broadband was rubbish compared to what I had been used to with Sky, so I had to pay to upgrade which defeated the object of saving money, I still have problems with broadband mainly in the evening despite upgrading. I am now having nightmare with my Gas & Elec bill as they have allowed my bill to build up, since smart meter put in this year, and I have now been told I owe them a small fortune. Absolutely disgusting. I am going to save up to pay them off, and then cancel all my subscriptions with them. They don't deserve my business.

    This may take a while.
I live in a rural area, where broadband stability and speed has, until this year, been a significant issue. Nothing more than the lowest speed service available at the same cost as other areas are paying for significantly better.
I was a customer of BT for 2 years and had significant issues with the broadband service. Eventually, they advised me to ditch the telephone handset as that appeared to affect the braodband service further and, like many households today, it wasn't being used. (We live in an old cottage with thick walls.....pretty much opposite an Openreach green box).
So, having ditched the handset, nothing improved. I switched to UW to pay less for the same broadband service. And didn't replace the handset. It's definitely not the same. In fact, I am now 12 days without any Broadband connection at all. There is a recognised fault in the area, which Openreach were scheduled to fix on February. They needed to apply to close the road; I watched two Openreach vans turn up as expected and leave within an hour; no traffic lights erected for traffic management and no road dug up.
I run a small on-line business; my children require the internet to carry out homework; I have used my data allowance on my mobile wifi unit and mobile phone; I have amassed a significant bill in accessing further data.
I understand the 80/20 rules in making business decisions. And falling into that "20" is stressful. My customers expect timely responses and orders fulfilling.
Being in the "20", no one wants to take any responsibility.
Clearly there are patches of good in UW. I don't rate them at all; the rules of them paying for me to come out of my BT contract changed after I signed up to the service, so there are now actions reliant on me to carry out to get the £80. These actions were not clear or explained when I agreed to switch.
    My advice is:
Do your research before switching any service provider. And more over, if your broadband relies on Openreach, which it will unless you are a Virgin Media customer, understand the service level agreements in place in case you have a total outage.
HMRC are demanding that VAT returns are all executed digitally from April.....sadly by then, the excessive charges that I have incurred will mean that not only will I probably be bankrupt, but I'll be facing extra fines because I can't submit my VAT return.
We should all learn a lesson from BREXIT......ask questions and understand the facts. Don't be seduced by cheap because you get what you pay for. And be aware that no service for anything, from anybody, is consistent. It's impossible. Look for what's good in your area. The reviews here are massively mixed. My experience isn't great and I am more than stressed about it. Life in the 21st Century relies on broadband for the majority of the population. UW are no better placed to provide a broadband service than any other Openreach based service provider. But equally they don't have the empathy skills or alternatives to deal with customer issues.
I'm borrowing a wifi unit today. Who know what tomorrow will bring.
Benefit city here I come. It doesn't pay to be responsible for your self anymore.

This broad band is absolutely shocking, I changed to UW broadbands with the promise that it would be faster and cheaper but ever since I changed all I have had is problems, and hoping it would improve I upgraded the internet package I was on and tbh it’s even worse than the lower package, constantly buffering, lagging. I was on my own in my house with only 1-2 devices connected and I was lagging all over the place on my PlayStation, and stuff was really slow on my phone.

As a customer of Utility Warehouse I have to say how impressed I am with all of their services. The broadband that we have is the Ultra+ with a Super Router and it is FANTASTIC! Never drops out, we have lots of gadgets and gizmos attached to the router and no problem at all. My son is a gamer and we stream movies and TV.

I would definitely recommend Utility Warehouse.

I've been most unsatisfied with Utilities Warehouse. Our energy bills doubled after having a smart meter fitted with no explaination as to why there was such an increase and the reliability of our broadband was shocking so we had to change provider and Utilities Warehouse are still trying to get more money out of us for cancelling the service. Shocking.

Generally, we have had a good experience with UW, but recently have hit a strange problem. We switched from TalkTalk broadband (absolute cr@p) to the mid range UW offering. The coverage was poor upstairs, so tried getting an extender. Each one I have tried has connected to the router but will not recognise the password when you connect a device - anyone else found this?

IF YOU ARE READING THE CUSTOMER REVIEWS ON THIS SITE LET ME SAVE YOU A LOT OF TIME. THE OVERWHELMING MAJORITY OF REVIEWS REVEAL AN APPALLING RECORD OF TRULY BAD SERVICE. What is needed now is an expert guide on how to quit Utility Warehouse and avoid any severance penalties or fees. Will some legal expert please provide this?
OFCOM should step in and investigate this company - it is disgraceful.

The only good point about the broadband is the router is thick and weighty - so you can use it to bludgeon the rep that sold you this disgrace.

The broadband, should you manage a connection, is slow. Painfully slow. Possibly contravenes the Geneva Conventions slow. Not to mention it will drop out continuously.

We have now gone through 3 routers (sadly, not through burgeoning) and no significant improvement to connect has occurred. If you are thinking of going with this company, try setting up a brick and connecting to that; it will have the same effect, while also being cheaper and easier to leave in the long run.

Nothing good to say. Bills leapt up after smart meters and 'money saving' LED bulbs installed. WIFI is none existent except when next to router. All my ceiling spotlights were broken when fitters installed new bulbs. Broadband is far worse than any supplier I've known before. I have had a complaint on going since March '17 and was offered £30 as resolution to start with. I have to pay £170 to get a qualified electrician to fix my lights, they then offered to pay that to settle my complaint as final resolution which I refused as it didn't address any of the other massive issues I have. Have now taken complaint to The Ombudsman. Totally useless company in my experience. Regret leaving Sky. Stay well clear.

Terrible service all round with Utilities Warehouse. As well as Energy problems I have been waiting over a month for the internet. The initial set up was cancelled without my permission and without telling by their Customer Services. I have not received an apology for this. Instead of fast tracking my internet set up I had to restart the process again.Every phone call has a 10 minute minimum waiting time and the communication between their different departments is poor - each department seems to operate separately. I have escalated my complaints but have never received a response from the company.

    really shocked at these reviews.
we switched from BT, we have 2 ps4's, 4 phones, 2 laptops and 2 tablets in our household and the internet we receive is brill!! however I think you need to upgrade to the premium router for optimum internet benefits. half the price of BT and defo worth the switch

For some unknown reason my broadband speed crashes most nights after about 11.30 at night. This is a consistent phenomenon. Utility Warehouse are singularly un-helpful.
