I have just renewed my contract for the 4th time so I could be called a satisfied customer, others might call me something else.
The speed isn't very good and has deteriorated but is average for this area. A neighbour some 400 yds away has fibre but it is not available for my address!

TalkTalk's main downfall is when you have to contact Customer services as you end up stressed and annoyed. You have wasted time and got exactly nowhere.
I tried to avail myself of the £17 per month deal as my contract was about to expire and as a TalkTalk customer I understood deals were available to both new and existing customers .

    This is not true.
From a site like this or any comparison website you click on the deal and are then transferred to TalkTalk who then know you are an exsisting customer and you are then offered " the best available deal for you" which is £18.95. I have spent nearly an hour "chatting" and dealt with three agents who persist that my deal is the cheapest available and that new customers and existing ones are treated equally..........
Broadband .co.uk also state this is true and it is down as one of the advantages of using TalkTalk.

Communication about delevery going live date etc was very good. Read information supplied and website for how to install broadband router and talk talk tv box I was informed by the lad I chatted to that I needed Wi-Fi extender set due to phone line not bear tv or router, he was very helpful and I got the best advise for my needs. I am a 65 year old single lady and managed to install router on date it went live at 12.10 am and also install tv box and wi fi extender set . Turned it in and did bit expect it to work but hey ho up in running straight away I was super impressed with ease if installation and with talk talk broadband and talk talk tv boost. I do not have any annoying trailing wires and according to my son who popped over to help in the evening which was not needed was very impressed with my broad band speed which he said was 20..very pleased with talk talk broadband and tv box with booster. If I can install it anyone can

Have just upgraded to Talktalk Faster Fibre and must say that everything went as promised. I received a router 1 week prior to Activation Date, on Activation day I noticed my existing router was showing red, so installed my new fibre router and low and behold everything was up and running. The speed is about what was promised 30Mbps. No complaints at all, so far.

Have been with TalkTalk for years and apart from the landline going down once which as soon as reported was repaired. I have no complaints about them, have just upgraded to faster broadband, got a good deal and got it extended from 18 to 24 months. Customer service was efficient friendly and helpful.
Reading previous reviews I think I’m in the minority being perfectly happy with the company.

I never recieved my phone I was promised I had to supply my own. Talk Talk changed the date for the engineer to visit me and threatened to charge me if I wasn't home on that date. Engineer was 2 hours early. Also I have been charged for turning virus and kids safe setting. On the plus side I can say the modem is pin protected against hackers but the password is easy to hack in a matter of days. You need to change the password to something like "tA~lK14-TaLk.20" (without quotes) which would probably take a super computer 10 years to crack.

I see most of you complaint about your speed well it's not actually talk talk at fault here is the distance from the telephone exchange you live and the quality of your telephone line. I live 1.1 miles from the exchange with my telephone line but being on fibre I get a reliable service I've never had any problems with my service from talktalk the only time I actually had a problem is on there ADSL service which was crap. So try upgrading to fibre 38 meg or 76 meg and you will see a difference for the sake price.

I was attracted to this company with a very good offer however since joining have had constant problems with no service and very poor customer service. A engineer was sent out to fix a problem outside our property and i was charged a engineer fee of £65 even when it was beyond my capability. Talktalk deny this and claim we are lying. Thiefs!!

After receiving my monthly bill which is £25.50 a month as only having broadband with them. Spent 50 mins today on the phone trying to get the extra £4 removed. That they was charging for TV. A lot of typing and waiting on the phone. For her to say sorry we will credit you next month I have better things to do on a Sunday afternoon. When it's not even my mistake

Been on a standard broadband contract for last 18 months and receiving an average 9mb speed with occasional dips to 6mb in early evening. Overall been a good service. Offered free 76mb fibre for 12 months as now need more speed for streaming and son on Xbox. Am aware the router isn't very good so will buy my own. Shopped around but all provide from the same BT fibre and none have good customer service reviews. Will have to see how it goes.

We have been with TalkTalk, previously Tiscali. In all those years we have only had a couple of issues. Both times the engineer turned up as planned and fixed the problem. Each time we have call customer service, either for the problems mentioned or an enquiry about our bill, they have answered the phone efficiently. Cannot understand why so many people have experienced bad customer service? We were leaving at one point as one if the other companies, at that time was offering it cheaper, but before it was even installed we had issues with getting hold of them and they were up North! Therefore we remained with TalkTalk. Everyone seems at one time or another to have issues with their provider, especially their speeds. Incidentally when the broadband has died a couple of times, it has been BT equipment that had gone down for one reason or another. Customer service is really important to us.

I changed to a different provider 12/1/23 was told I didn't need to do anything as they would inform talktalk which they did but talktalk declined the take over so a payment went out of my account February and then in March contacted talktalk very very long winded process kept getting passed around finally thought I was in contact with correct person but all she wanted to offer me was a better deal. In the end had to phone the next day and was told I had not cancelled my contract (came to an end in November 22 so was paying higher rate) so long story short finally got it cancelled but have been told I will have make a payment in April as it is 30 days to cancel. Customer service is VERY VERY poor. I have never had to phone to cancel it has always been done automatically.

If 0 was possible I would still be classed as benevolent. Tried to close an account today! Two hours of back and forth, transfer, what you like sir, transfer, here's an out of hours contact number to call, alright, here's a number you can call, but we can offer you a better deal. I DON'T WANT ONE!! Now I've got to give them 30 days notice, I think I'm out of contract anyway. Hum ho, gladly pay an extra month to be rid of these incompetents. Sad, because never had a problem with their service (technical), sad to say their customer service is not even comparable to a TV comedy show. Next time I need a contract, sorry ladies and gentlemen at Talk Talk, you won't even be in the game! APPALLING.

This is probably going to be the only positive review on here, all I've read are negative reviews and even my review isn't 100% positive!
I am a brand new customer and have had problems with my bill from the get go. I joined through uSwitch and it's a pretty decent deal and had no set up fees etc. so I thought excellent, I will go with this deal.
At first, before my internet had even gone live, it said my estimated bill would be over £100! This was including my broadband package and an £85 new line set up fee! (I didn't even have a new line installed.) I was sure that there were to be no set up fee costs due to the deal that I chose via uSwitch. So, I spoke to an agent on the live chat who reassured me that when my bill was generated there would automatically be a credit of £85 and I would not have to pay the £85. So I thought excellent and was grateful that it was all cleared up.
Fast forward to yesterday, the day after my services went live and my bill was generated and it was... over £100. No £85 welcome credit added like I was advised. Anyway, I called and the £85 was wavered instantly as I have evidence of the deal I signed up for and the webchat transcript. A terrible ordeal for a brand new customer though, I was definitely considering leaving but I am thankful that the situation was resolved instantly the second time round.

In terms of speed, I've only been connected for 2 days but so far so good. The switch over was very quick. My previous internet disconnected at around 10am and by the time I had set up my new Talk Talk router I was connected to the internet. I haven't been disconnected and the speed is as quick as stated on the contract.

So yeah, so far I am relatively happy. Hopefully nothing else goes wrong regarding my bill and that the internet speed remains!

Broadband in question is brilliant. Unfortunately there billing is ripping customers off. And its difficult to complain. I had a contract with free TalkTalk TV for 3/4 of the previous contract. I renewed with free TalkTalk TV but was charged £4 anyway. Turns out I had TalkTalk TV £4 and TalkTalk TV FREE on my account. They cancelled my TalkTalk TV's but won't refund me £12 already spent as I am only just telling them about it now! So they have technically made it look like its free again and punishing me for not coming to them sooner. I could argue this but you have to call up again, wait on the line, ask to speak to a manager, then argue for 8 weeks before I can take my complain further. Not worth it but I am seriously considering moving away from talk talk as they have ripped off a long standing customer.

We have just moved house and wanted to cut loose sky can't get fibre in our new street talk talk were lowest price by far for standard or as they call it faster broadband.
Our package with line rental and unlimited UK landline and mobile calls is £26 a month.
Ordered 10 days ago before we moved did it all online got a order confirmation in minutes next day I had a go live date and our new landline number 3 days ago our router arrived.
Got an e mail at 3 am yesterday saying the line was live ,I work nights so got home opened the router box followed the clear simple instructions took 3 or 4 minutes.

Switched it all on tested phone line all ok took 2 or 3 minutes of flashing lights and the broadband was on as well.

Our speed is up to 10 mb guaranteed minimum 4 mb I did 5 speed tests during the day and average us just over 7 mb that's what we got from sky we don't stream or game etc so it's fine for us.
Feel sorry for the folk with the horror stories but touch wood so far it's fine for us.

I have been with TalkTalk since the time they purchased Tiscali. I haven't realy had any bother at all over the years. The price has come down to £22 a month. I was paying about £36 when broadband came out. Yesterday I had an online chat with a TalkTalk rep. about email settings. That was sorted, but then the rep. said I had a problem with my broadband line and it would cost £65 for an engineer to check & a fine if I missed the appointment. I politely told him to go & do one as my connection was obviously ok. So people, don't fall for this scam as it is just a blatant way of making extra money for their buddies at Openreach.

I have been with Talktalk for 6 years and have always had good service and lots of loyalty rewards for contract re-newal.
First Talktalk has to use the existing old BT cable network which is many years old as open reach are slow to upgrade many areas and having been owned bt BT it was not in their interest to help the competition.
If your broadband is slow or cutting out? its likely to be the infrastructure not the ISP.
I live in a remote village so it does drop ot or run slow occasionally but we now have fibre and thing are much better here.
As for customer services I have never had a problem in 6yrs the only thing is the overseas accents from the call centres.
I f you got a crap infrastructure (old phone lines) your internet is gonna be crap whoever your provider is.
My opinion, Talktalk are fine and after a couple of re news of contracts become very good.

As for service if your rude to them? they will be rude back

TalkTalk is absolutely fine as long as you avoid their so called 'Super Router' which is buggy. This is causing many of the problems customers have with their connections.

Buy your own router (I'm using a £40 TP-Link router) and you'll find a solid and stable connection.

It's better to use Live Chat to talk to CS as it's very hard to understand the Indian call centre operatives.

However, I've found the only way to resolve most issues is to email the CEO Dido Harding's office who are English and will resolve issues reasonably.

I was with TalkTalk for more than 3 years. They were fine. I had heard that their customer service wasn't very good, but I never needed to contact them in the first place until I left, and even then they were generally helpful. There was a bit of a mix-up with my change to a new provider but this was quickly dealt with. Internet speeds didn't set the world on fire but were fine for the price, and overall TalkTalk provided a reliable service.

TalkTalk hasn't fully disappointed yet. All issues I had were down to the line itself, at leat this far.
It is however a "DIY" network, you better know what you are doing as their Support lacks knowledge.
On my last call with them, some tech reset my router, no backup or even informed it of it, my custom configuration was all lost. Had to reconfigure from scratch and even that they could not help with as "DHCP" and "DNS" was not something they would even understand.

Overall, value for money is amazing, and they are keen to help, just not always able to.

I have been with TalkTalk for many years, I have found them to be fair and very helpful, I know it would be better if customer service was in the UK,but I have spoken to the overseas branch, and found them to be very good. On price they are hard to beat, but like all the rest prices are creeping up.

I changed from Vodafone to TALK TALK, my broadband worked from the start and is providing everything I need, no problems at all, they are a very reliable Company, they do provide a good service, I wouldn't go anywhere else, stay away from Vodafone

Terrible customer service. Despite spending hours on the phone Talk talk were incapable of a simple upgrade to our broadband contract. As a consequence l had to seek an alternative provider.

Not really had a problem with talk talk - just signed up for another 12mths with 6 months 1/2 price.
Phone line was rubbish at first but they got an engineer here within a week (BT subcontractor) who arranged BT to fit new cable from pole - broadband has been fine since getting 14meg so adequate for my use. Will maybe upgrade to fibre when becomes available in my area. Was a virgin customer for many many years at previous address but wanted to pay less - you soon get up to £40+ per month with virgin or sky and this is too much for us - so talk talk has been a good substitute. I have a NOW box for the odd time I want to watch my team on Sky Sports (obviously better to not be using laptop/tablet at same time as streaming tv sports with a low download speed).
    So all in all satisfied.
I think a lot of people's problems come with maybe bad overhead phone lines/connections so ask for a proper line check before installing BT/TalkTalk or even SKY BB.

If you don't need any support then TT is for you. I don't and so I'm very happy with TT. I get a stable 36mb download and 9.5 upload. Of course I dumped the TT free router as it was rubbish. I have a Netgear D7000v2 its just replaced an N600. Always use Netgear stuff. Cheap reliable and that's all I need. Been a customer since 2010..upgraded to Fibre just as soon as it was available. Only get Internet and calls from TT never tried the TV package.
