The slowest wifi I have ever had. I believe I was promised 30mb of internet speed and I struggle to get even half of that, not to mention the fact that is constantly cuts out and it does not work on the second floor of the house. TalkTalk have been made aware of the problem and have tried to offer us support over the phone which was very helpful and straightforward, but no other support was given.

I have lost WiFi since 19th October and it’s still not back yet (30th October) it also went down for 72 hours in September. They’ve been useless this time the delays occurred as they said they sent out a test router (they didn’t) then they said they sent out and engineer so I waited another 3 days (they hadn’t) they’ve cut me off twice on chat once just now when I tried to confirm what time the engineer would come out (mostly to ensure it was actually booked this time) and earlier when I asked for money back and the process for requesting this. Crap service, not particularly rude just useless. I would never recommend and will never go back.

They created a new contract (18 months) without us knowing and without our permission after only 3 months of being with them. Our original contract was 12 months (as we are students). When we called to state that they changed our contract without us knowing we had to go through 3 people til someone did something (even then he could only review previous conversations we had with other agents). We are being charged an extortionate cancellation fee for a 24 month contract when we only bought a 12 month contract. We're still unsure whether we are going to have to pay this fee or not (given their current reputation, we probably will have to).

Been with talktalk for many years and find it okay, since getting boradband in the last 3yrs isn't so good, connections always going down, could be days before i can go onto the internet or get my emails. changed the channels on my box but don't make any difference, slow connection off and on and don't matter what time of day it is. not happy with not getting good speed or constant connection to the internet.

I was sadly with TalkTalk and the pathetic wifi for too many years due to a hectic lifestyle, illness and renting my flat out I never changed my service...i believed in them....in between these times I called several times for help to their technical department which often seemed to help whatever situation at the time, however in retropsect I came to realise that I was fobbed off with complete rubbish about my router type or whatever else and in the end I was so angry to be finally told the problem lay with the type of telephone plate screwed to the wall for my house phone and router to go into. Basically I was told that this issue (whether it was true or not) all along could be fixed if I paid £60 or whatever for an engineer to come out and there would never be an issue again! **** off TalkTalk basically you were screwing me for monthly payments of £37+ a month just for internet...i didn't have TV or anything else and the house phone useage was minimal...wtf - This service was beyond pathetic in every respect...never would I ever recommend anyone use them.
    I can't get rid of the stars -- I wouldn't have any..

To be honest. Any company that you go with is going to have issues . I've had talk talk for about 4 years and only had one problem. I might be lucky but I will say when I had my problem it was on a weekend. They really need a 7 days a week customer service line

We got the offer to transfer to Fibre with Talk Talk as existing costumers and we thought why not.
Talk talk representative guarantee that will be a smooth transfer with no gaps between. On Friday 3rd of March our connection went offline and it has been like that since. Shocking service - rang numerous times as I'm still without internet - spent 40 minutes hours on my mobile phone today. Staff totally untrained or knowledgeable.

If I could give them a minus 10 as a rating I would, Rubbish service. We sat for 3 months with no phone, no internet or tv channels. They had a carry on getting engineers, phone line checks every day and it turns out the problem was at their end. Feel sorry for their staff in customer service as they are the ones answering to angry customers. They even had a cheek to take the direct debit for the 3 month and no refund. They are the biggest waste of time ever!!!! If you value your sanity and want a resonable internet service don't pick them.

Worst internet provider ever. Internet speed is terrible, and customer service keeps blaming us, everything is alright on their side of course. Customer service people are like monkeys reading the text on their screens, regardless your comment or explanation. Any other company is better than this.

Terrible customer service who is very sorry and doesn't answer any questions, just repeats same thing all over again!
Each time I called them I was put on hold for min 40mins. I spent 2h on each phone call and problem not resolved.
Many times requested to speak to the manager. They refused.
Any changes you want to make to the account the contract has to be renewed for 18months!
Internet speed between 0.2-3.5 Mbps because I am 2.5 km away from the receiver. Ridiculous and frustrating

The saying quality not quantity sparks to mind with talk talk. Although their broadband and landline deals are stated to be as good as other providers but just cheaper is complete rubbish. Their WiFi signal is low and non-existent most of the time. Also when you try and call customer service for help you get no help but rather attitude and rude replies. I would rather pay a bit extra and have less of the hassle!

I moved house last year and thouhght my contract was terminated i spoke to the adviser and asked if i could transfer to my new address as it is remote where i am taklktalk cant provide the service so the contract was cancelled when i moved away i thought, but now 7 months later they put a credit agency on me to claim nearly £200 as the contract didnt end until a few months ago. So i am paying for a contract on a phone line i couldnt use in my new home. Perhaps they want to tell their advisers to make it clear to customers that cant transfer their phone lines that contracts have to be cancelled in writing so to avoid being persued by a credit agency demanding payment. One of many unhappy ex customers who wont be recommending their services.

Decided to switch to a TalkTalk broadband package to save money. No one came to install it. Was left without internet for a week, so I cancelled and returned to my old provider (Virgin) who got me back up and running in 48 hours.

I was assured on 3 different occasions by TalkTalk that my broadband was cancelled. Yet they keep trying to book more engineer visits, emailing me to tell me that "something is wrong", and sending me bills for a non existent service.

Their customer service is abysmal. Don't be tempted by the cheap prices and stay away!

I cancelled my broadband with you in feb 2013 as I was moving, you send me a letter confirming it. A few months later I noticed you were STILL taking monthly payments from me (I didn't have broadband in my new house)
I spoke to the chief executive Colin Mccleod and he apologised, he said there is NOTHING on the system to say I owe anything and refunded the payments they took after I moved. I changed my card details to make sure the payments would no longer be taken out. 2 years later I recieved a letter from a debt collector saying I owe £88 for march 2013 onwards (The period AFTER I had moved and talktalk had cancelled my broadband!!) I faught with them for a year showing them all the letters and proof that I was no longer in my old property and my broadband was cancelled. Another 2 years later I recieved another letter saying I still owe a debt! Obviously there is someone who was fraudulenly taking payments from my account who works at talktalk. This morning I have just recieved another letter from the debt collectors. I am at my wits end, I am NOT paying for something when talktalk are in the wrong for taking payments for my old address AFTER I moved, even sending me a letter confirming my account was closed with no outstanding payments!!
This company and it's staff are fraudulent and I would advise anyone to stay away from this disgrace of a company.

    Rubbish, avoid talk talk!
Never had a problem with other providers, but since joining talk talk internet cuts out, they don’t give the speeds they promised, they don’t call back when they book call back times, they close the conversation on the online chat whilst you are typing a response, they have terrible customer service and started calling me ‘madam’ mid call rudely and faf about when you try to talk to them calls take forever. They have sent engineers out, more wasted time and stress just because they provide rubbish routers that don’t work.

Talk talk is undoubtably the worst service provider that o have ever had the displeasure of using or experiencing.
I signed up for the super fast fibre broadband with an expectation of high speed internet, based on the promises that their sales team gave me. Despite repeated warnings from family and friends not to use them, I still signed.
They told me I would receive an average of 62mbps but very rarely did I get anything above 16mbps. The router had to be constantly reset to reactivate services on the line and trying to challenge this with their customer services team (who aren’t even located in UK) was always a very long winded and unsuccessful effort to say the least.
I have opted to change providers prematurely before end of contract and claimed that they did not provide the services that they advertised or promised me. Their only response was “it’s in the contract that you will only receive minimum of 16mbps)
They made umpteen excuses about how their services are fed in to the property, inclusive of lines being a long way from distribution panel and cables not being sufficient for speeds that they claim you can get.
In all, even other providers that use the same hardware to distribute there services, have much better tact and understanding on how to satisfy a customer that has justified concerns about what they are paying for v’s what they are actually getting.
I cannot stress enough how much I would advise even my worst enemy not to go with talk talk. Any savings that they may try to offer is not worth the hassle and blatant disregard for customer support, services, satisfaction or value.

On the Friday 22nd of July I welcomed the engineer to my home for my then supposedly my t.v and broadband to go live(supposedly). After the completion of my broadband the gentleman kindly said he's goodbyes turned round and walked out, how is this strange you may ask, well it is strange because he did not install my t.v service!!

This was promised to me by the talk talk representitive who sold me this package deal 2 and a half weeks ago.

After numerous failed call backs and many Indian chaps with names like William and Sean I decided it was enough!!

I called them once more and demanded a manager immediately, another of which could not speak a word of English(who then admitted at the end that he was not a manager but and adviser!!)

After 45 minutes of me trying to explain the situation (AGAIN) he finally decided to talk to me about compensation as it was fair for me to receive something considering I have to take another day off from work for another engineer to come out to my property, losing more provisions for my family. But instead he told me that he will wait for the t.v service to be installed so that they can make some sort of a review!!!

This is the third time I was told that I will have my case reviewed and quite frankly I have had just about enough!!

Now my appointment with engineer is cancelled! FOCK YOU TALK TALK !!

At first TalkTalk were quite good but as soon as we ran into problems they became awful. The offshore tech help call centre don’t speak good enough English are following a script. They simply tell you that your broadband issues are device issues - on all eight separate devices?! The issues are from the terrible router they give you. It’s fairly fast but it has so many issues with cutting out broadband and not broadcasting. Do not use TalkTalk. Until they invest in decent routers and a tech help in the UK then avoid. We’ve not had useable internet for three months and they’ve done nothing to help.

Okay internet speed, below average reliability, cheap prices, and I cannot emphasize this enough TERRIBLE customer service. Trust me, do not be lured in by the cheap prices this company offers as you may come to rue it.

At least in my case the actions of Talktalk have honestly been the equivalent of those pursued by scam companies.

When I was moving out of my previous house I called Talktalk up to inform them that I was leaving my current residence and moving in with a friend who already had internet being provided by another company. I therefore did not wish to prolong my contract with Talktalk after it expired (which was going to happen at the same time as when I moved out from my previous residence). The customer service guy (who by the sounds of it was from the Phillipines) said okay to this and then started mumbling about other offers.

I did not really understand him, nor evidently did he me. Hence despite repeteadly telling him "I DO NOT want to extend my contract with Talktalk", somehow a couple of months down the line I get a bill from "Lowell Financial" saying I need to pay "£120" (apparently 3 months of bills unpaid to Talktalk plus fees for the recovery company"). Then followed harrasment through calls, letters etc etc. In the end I paid but will NEVER ever recommend anyone to be fooled by the cheap prices Talktalk seem to offer at the facade. These guys will end up making more money of you at the end than Sky or BT, despite offering below average internet.

We've just migrated from BT Infinity and were nervous about our choice given the poor reviews of talk talk and EE whom we were choosing between.
    TalkTalk have been excellent.
They delivered everything when they promised. We had a small DNS issue which they have resolved immediately and were available at the end of a phone on the 3 times I called them. Yes its an offshore customer service desk, but they know what theyre talking about and they answer the phone and that's what counts.
We are achieving 38MBPS consistently and this is more than enough for video conferencing, tv and video streaming and all our needs.
    Strongly recommend Talk Talk.

Awful customer service / tech support, no ability to limit specific devices access to wifi.

I tend to change my supplier each year, in last 4 years having been with Virgin, BT and Plusnet. The broadband supply from Talktalk is fine, decent speed and rarely lose service. Two main issues though:

Unlike BT and Plusnet it is not possible to rename a device connecting to your wifi and then manage its access to wifi. This was a great benefit with BT and Plusnet, it meant that i could turn off access to wifi for my children's devices each night. This alone will mean that i will not continue with Talktalk when my contract ends.

Awful tech support/customer service. I lost broadband on Saturday morning only restored on Tuesday. The tech support team (I spoke to 4) all follow the same script, each step seeming to be to get you off the phone for a while.
Call one, day one resolution: "Turn off the modem for half an hour" and phone back if its still not working.

Call 2, day 2, "attach a microfilter to the line (even though the service has worked for 4 months without a microfilter), I didn't have one so they said they wouldn't do anything else until I had received one in the post (still hasn't arrived 3 days later), rather than wait I went out and bought one, unsurprisingly didn't help.
Call 3, day 2, unpleasant unhelpful person, kept talking over me, ignored everything I said, resolution 3, find a screwdriver and take the front off the socket to try the microfilter in the test socket, at this point I asked to move to this being a complaint over how my problem was being handled..
Call 4, complaints team....same checklist for resolution as above, would not do anything until the front of the socket had been removed, I refused as there still no reason to suspect that the socket had suddenly failed with no reason. resolution here to send an engineer 2 days later, threats by phone and text over a £65 fine if not in when engineer called at arranged time.

Day 4, engineer arrives late. wonders why tech support had been insisting on a filter in the test socket. instead resets the modem, service works again, problem resolved, a few minutes work after 4 days.

The tech support team can only seem to follow a script a set troubleshooting pathway, not interested in listening to the circumstances or actually thinking about what might be the cause.

    Really poor service

Terrible service - slow, service is unreliable and patchy. They also spontaneously cut off my internet (account all paid up). Customer service then told me that nothing can be done and I have to call back in 24 hrs to wait on the phone again so that they can "fix" it. Terrible.

We have a recurring problem where the internet drops repeatedly over a period of days to a point where it renders the broadband useless and we have to buy alternative methods of getting online or use our mobile phone to get wifi for the computers. This time we have pretty much been without internet since Friday (today is Monday) but they can't send someone until Tuesday (tomorrow). That's 4 days of waiting to possibly but not definitely have the problem fixed (they haven't been able to identify the issue so far and this will not be the first time they send out a technician). This time our landline is also affected and there is so much noise on the line that it's impossible to use the phone.
I can honestly say that this is the worst internet connection and worst service I have experienced in 22 years of being online.

I was lied to at sales stage, had to go through 3 months of a terrible customer service when exiting the contract and finally ripped off at the end. Not for me, thank you...

Youview box and broadband package contract
not quick enough internet speed to use Netflix on youview box then when I phoned there Indian call centre they try to sell you quicker internet speed, so I said no thanks as my internet speed was a hell of a lot quicker before they took over. A trick these bigger isp's do is throttle your internet connection speed tell you you can have fibre broadband for extra coin per month then when you agree they just unthrottle your internet speed
then they change packages all the time through your contract to hike up the price then you ask them what's happening and they just tell you they don't do that package anymore. People that I know who have talktalk are all regretting it.
in my opinion and experience all the isp's that are all over the tv, internet ect are sharks avoid them all.
search for isp's that don't advertise and offer simple services
I pay £17.99 a month for broadband which is twice as fast as talktalk for half the price.

    Pros: Inexpensive.

Cons: Very poor reliability and appalling customer service. Our connection has been dropping (sometimes several times a day) for over three months. I have made frequent calls to customer service which most often conclude with them being able to do nothing (after typically 30 minutes going through the same tedious and useless questions) but instead promising a call-back from a tech person "within 24-48 hours". I have never received such a call-back. On one occasion they arrnaged for an engineer to visit, who never showed up and they then attempted to charge *me* £30 for a missed appointment! After further calls a BT engineer was sent out (they are very reluctant to do this) but he still failed to rectify the issue. Today, I cancelled our contract (~15 months remaining) fee-free due their inability to rectify the problem.
