PO Broadband is at least as good as the others that I have had - usually change to the cheapest each year. No difference in service from SSE broadband, Sky and PlusNet. PO was the cheapest when my PlusNet contract finished last August. No complaints since then - the occassional disconnect, but that occurred with PlusNet as well - just reboot the modem. I was sent an offer to upgrade my PO line to fibre (for £20.90 pm). Customer service very helpful and efficient. I will update when my fibre connection is in place (next week).

I have Post Office fibre. I find it very reliable with average speed 30mb. There is an occasional drop out but infrequently and then for only a couple of minutes. Customer service is easy to contact with minimal waiting times. Professional and friendly help from agents. I highly recommend this service particularly as it is competitively priced.

I tried other well known competitors for a 12 month Broadband contract only to be told that I need to pay (up to £100) for an engineer to come out re the phone line and, in one case, came in for a really hard sell in relation to fibre. I rang the Post Office and everything was arranged quickly and easily. No call out- they just swapped the line over- and everything else happened as stated; the router arrived through the post and the service began on the date agreed. I received correspondence throughout and, so far, couldn’t be happier!

I really think reviews on this site should only be comparative, i.e. relative to the competition.

We used BT for 2 years with average but acceptable speeds (ranges from 15-35 mb/s with hardly any drop outs). But their bills went from about £25 a month to £40 so I switched to P.O. which is costing me £20 a month. I was told when I did this (by both BT and P.O. actually) that they all use the same line unless you pay for fiber optic so there should be no difference in service. I can say after 2 months use this is completely accurate. My broadband speeds have not been affected at all.

In addition to this, P.O. sent me out a router and switched me over on the date they said they would, without me having to do anything after the initial phone call. It was incredibly easy, one month my bill was from BT the next it was from P.O. And the online account BT gave me works perfectly as well, for changing settings and such.

This is why I have given them 5 stars for everything. As a service provider you can only work with the tools available, people like the Post Office aren't generating broadband in a factory, they are just connecting us to the line. Relative to the area that I live in, P.O. are doing a great job for me and I am super glad I changed over.

I've had this broadband for a week now and so far very satisfied for the cost.

    £15.90 for 15mbps.

There was £60 upfront cost to connect the line. However, most providers charge for this service and believe that BT charge £130

No need for the Fibre option 15mbps is fast enough for everything.

    Good value broadband.

I'm on the £15.90 package, I was with Sky but ended up ditching them because of increasing prices.

I signed up to PO broadband back in January as I thought £15.90 was a fair price to pay and 20% cheaper than Sky, then I read the reviews and was quite concerned this changeover would be a disaster.

I must say the complete swapover from sky to PO has gone like clockwork. PO broadband gave me the date of the switch, on the date sky went dead around 15:00, so I connected the Post Office router, internet light was green but no internet :-(, I rang customer services, a Scottish guy at PO looked into the sign-up and said everything's fine and going through and that it will be live at midnight at the latest.

I got internet at 20:00 hrs, tested the speed which was really unstable - one test showed 1.2 Mbps then the next showed 12.33, the post office sign-up tells you that the line will be up and down at first as things adjust.

Two to three days later I get around 9mbps peak, and about 12mbps at 3am in the morning. The connection has never cut off once.

I am only about 0.4 mile from BT exchange.

So, early days but I'm a happy customer, I stream catch-up / Netflix whilst my 10 year old son watches youtube and it seems to cope. I also have a ring doorbell and CCTV camera connected along with an I pad.

Speeds are slightly less than sky (about 0.5mbps less) but this isn't noticeable.

When I signed up over the phone the adviser told me to ring back in December to request another 12 month cheap deal as price would increase to £30 per month. I was pleased I was given this info as it shows they are thinking about their customers costs.

So far so good, I'm a very pleased customer.

After my husband died,I decided to get a better deal (helped by my son) so opted for post office broadband as it seemed very reasonable and also included a new phone line(can't remember the deal it was less than a tenner I'm sure) I had complained for years to my previous supplier Fuel Broadband to fix my crackly line....never any joy from them,so I ditched them and got a new line for next to nothing and unlimited broadband on a very cheap deal (including weekend calls abroad)....Having read all the reviews on here I wasn't optimistic but I have to say I'm very pleased,I can't grumble about the broadband or telephony at all,it's all been reliable and I'm able to do all that I want, including using Netflix and catch up TV without any problems!! For me it's been great....Sadly it would appear I'm the exception!!

Being a previous BT ISP user for many previous years, this PO basic Broadband deal has saved me 60pc of my previous line rental/charges, in the first year (ok, I cut out the free weekday calls). Even at the full rate, I now save 30pc of monthly fixed costs compared to BT. Please note that I am a light Internet user (Chromecast are my biggest downloads), but my service has now been faultless for 18 months.
I recently contacted PO for Freephone tech help (on my Girlfriends service!) and as well as getting straight though to a very helpful English guy, the problem was resolved by him, remotely, within 1/2 hour, Well done, thanks. Summary is, I have a great service at a great price, for my requirements.

I changed from Plus Net fibre to Post Office fibre and it was very easy with instant results. I get 30mgb with occasional drop out on Sunday mornings for a minute or two.
On the rare occasion I need help I get through to the call centre straight away. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Cannot ask for more.

I have had post office home phone and broadband package for over a year now and I can honestly say I can't fault them.My installation was free and was sorted out very quickly with text message updates. The landline is great and I have chopped and changed my call package several times (via my on-line account) currrently I pay £4 extra a month to have free anytime overseas phone calls....amazingly good value!! The broadband router looked a tad flimsy and cheap when it arrived but astonishingly it has provided consistently reliable internet (we watch Netflix every night).....am I the ONLY satisfied customer on here?!!

Moved to PO Broadband as their price was VERY good and THEN read the reviews and tried to cancel before it went live. An extremely personable lady at PO talked me out of cancelling and hey presto, the switchover went like a dream! My big concern was the streaming speed for Netflix HD but this has been fault-free since start-up. The speed is a little lower (11mbps) against 14mbps that I was getting from Plusnet but in the event it causes no problems and Plusnet didn't do me proud. Altogether HIGHLY recommended!!!!

For the price this is a decent isp. Me and partner live in a 1-bed flat and the speed is great for what we need. We stream tv often and it handles it well, some occasional lapses but this is expected with broadband and it’s no worse than any other broadband. Speed is usually around 10-15 mps download but that’s very reasonable for the price (we do live near the exchange which helps though!). It’s also easy to find out when bills are taken and the 1 year contract is great as we have a 1 year lease on our flat. All in all very good for what we pay for, we could be paying a lot more with other companies for very little difference in speed and reliability.

Looked at the reviews here after I'd ordered and feared the worst, especially after a disastrous attempt to switch to Sky nearly 2 years ago. Actually it's worked out really well so far. I am saving nearly £150 per year and I am getting the same service. Went to bed one night with old provider, woke up next morning with the Post Office, plugged in and everything has been fine. 10Mbs is what I was getting and continue to get - it's all I need so I'm happy with that.

Switched from Sky. Saving £17.50 for the first 12 months. Then £10 a month after that. Internet was off for about an hour while it switched over. Getting 10mps instead of the 8mps with sky. No reliability problems.
Had a small problem with the phone line (no caller display). E-mailed customer services who were useless. Phone customer services who were very nice and professional. Problem was fixed in 24 hours and they rang me to check it had been sorted.
Would be 5 stars but the virus software caused my Windows 10 laptop to need to be restored to factory settings to get it working again.
Overall would not hesitate to recommend Post Office Broadband.

Was not sure about changing from BT after reading reviews, BT kept increasing prices but the service was good.

I spoke to Post Office about reviews who pointed out that most other providers reviews were just as bad, I decided to give it a go, after all saving over £30.00 a month is very tempting.

After a month I am pleased, the changeover went without a hitch, my BT service shut down in the evening, I plugged the router in next morning signed into WIFI and everything was up and running, a little slow for the first few days.

Checking download speed with speedtest.net shows that I am getting a consistent 15 mbit per second, about half the speed that I had from BT, this however is not noticeable in day to day use.

I think it is a shame that we have to go to the trouble of changing provider to get a good deal, no thought to customer loyalty.

I have read some very negative reviews of this provider but I can only speak as I find. We have been with them for nearly a year now and have had nothing but good service and support. When broadband failed on one occasion an assistant was very helpful and talked me through the most likely cause. When it was discovered that the cause was a faulty router a replacement was in the post arriving the next day. Once again the assistant was prepared to go through the steps of installation with me. So no, I have no complaints and found the customer service and provision of telephone and broadband excellent.

Cheapest contract for broadband and landline I could find. I'm with them for 3 years now. Just called them because I'll move to another city and they sorted me withing 10 minutes, all good news. No moving costs, no engineer needs to come out and I will now have an even cheaper contract with a better broadband speed. Mind you, I don't use the Internet at home very often.

Cheap and cheerful - steady 15-16 Mb speed, rarely loses service, reliable router. Customer service promptly dispatched a replacement when my first router was killed by a lightning storm.
Note that I live in an urban location with good infrastructure and live alone so I don't put my connection under any strain.

For the first month everything was fine, then my connection got steadily worse until one weekend - nothing. I rang on the Sunday, the man was very helpful & not at all patronising. I did all the things he suggested & it worked almost straight away. 2 weeks later everything is great. The reason was that I'd started turning off the router at night! So simple.

I'm only writing this review because there are so many poor reviews. I'd normally only bother to write a review if I had a problem (and it wouldn't be very complimentary!).

The Post Office provides me with a very reliable, reasonably quick service for not a lot of money. I'm with them on price only, there are no frills, the router is basic, I've no idea if I have web space included and I don't use a service provider email address for myself. Oh, and the website is really basic too - but I'd rather have it this way rather than be faced with flashing X-Factor adverts and the like!

The speed is exactly the same as it was on Talk Talk (which became expensive) - not a surprise really, the Post Office uses the Talk Talk equipment in the exchange.

All in all a reasonably satisfied customer - just don't put the prices up - or start charging me for not paying by direct debit. Please!

I am a single user household.I have had no problem with my usage last year. I have been able to speak to customer advisors on an access to account problem. It’s not all negative with the Post Office

So I got mine. I was dubious, but I am a bit cheap! I had read reviews and was a little worried. But it’s been fine. They said I’d get between 5 and 12 mb. I’m getting 10. I’m happy with that. Suits my family perfect. It’s hasnt dropped at all. All for £19 a month. All I would say is their customer service isn’t the fastest. I sent a query, took a week to get back to me and it was a very robotic answer. All in all though if you want cheap standard broadband, this fits the bill for me.

After complaining about horrible speeds and then realising I had the phone cable plugged into the wrong place, customer service helped me out and my broadband is just as fast as the broadband I had with Sky. I assume it varies by location but I get good speeds here.

I am now a retired fibre broadband provider. The main reason for slow or interrupted speeds are nothing to do with the fibre network. Most issues are in the customers premises. If you take self instal options from BT you can have problems if your internal cabling is not to the correct standard. Instal has to be done by a professional if you have more than one socket in your house. So dont complain if you have issues.

To be honest I don’t think the post office have much of a clue as I signed up for fibre optic and they tested my line said it was fine then the day it was due to go live a open reach engineer turned up and said my line was faulty my speeds were 11mbps he went but came back and said he wasn’t leaving until he fixed it he did and now my speeds are 39mbps 12 mbps faster than bt if this continues I shall be more than happy the post office just need to sort out their technical department

Ok, I have seen the reviews on here and thought I would write my own as people normally only write reviews when they are unhappy.. this isn't just broadband this is in general

this is a low cost low speed service we all know this from the get go, it is a DSL based provider and this is the left overs from talk talk's DSL as they now mainly run VIA high speed and fibre broadband..

with this being said we still expect a service that we pay for and often I see this is not the case

I think it all depends on where you live, I live in Crewe that's a very built up area with one of the best network coverage away from cities!

I changed to post office when I got rid of sky I also don't care about the lack in speed so wasn't fussed

I've had a good experience with them to be fair the speeds I get are around 6MB down and 0.50MB up via speed test . net I have had a few issues buy they got sorted fairly well ( the speeds do drop at peak times )

so if you are looking for broadband please make sure you know what you are getting into and if you do not live in a main city chances are you may run into trouble from time to time

but in the world as we all know we get what we pay for :)

I use iPlayer all out iPad etc. are linked and all seems well
    :)
