Hopelessly slow and intermittent. To cap it all when the router failed they refused to replace it as I was "out of contract".

Worst internet I have ever seen. Claimed 12mbps but actually getting 0.65 Mbps. The router doesn’t work properly you have to keep reconnecting your phone also says you have the wrong password even though you were connected 10 seconds ago

Very slow, 500kbps average. It also can’t open some webpages let alone support more than one device.

Given zero stars for all 4 categories.
Didn't expect great speed, but I can't even stream iplayer; often it doesn't provide any connection at all. It's been over a year trying to get some fix in place. All they do is send an Openreach engineer - they have no other option to offer. They outsourced customer service to a new group (Talk Talk) - no difference. I've made appointments & they haven't turned up. They've turned up when I hadn't made an appointment. Absolute joke.

This possibly the worst company I have dealt with. I thought that the post office with its history in communications would be a good choice. Their customer service is non existent and they take ages to answer queries. There on line billing cannot be viewed on an iPad as it needs adobe flash
Avoid this company as they won't be in business for long

Under no circumstances consider the Post Office as your bro and provider.
I have complained several times regarding the download speed which I am receiving. It varies fro just over 6 Megabits during the night and early morning, to less than 1 Megabit at peak times !
I am unable to stream movies, watch catch up to etc.
I have given them 7 days to sort out or my contract will be cancelled.

post office broadband is a great option for anyone who wants to stream videos and download some programs. post office broadband comes with a crappy zyxel router which is trottled by post office themselfs so i installed my own gateway router and it boosted the speed from 5MBPS to 12MBPS which i was promised. overall great company good speeds for my usuage anyway.

DONT BOTHER, ive only been online 2 days, got 256kb second yesterday afternoon and evening, says upto 8meg! next to useless. unable to access any sites of 18 years age or older access required, looking at VPN sites in order to bypass but unable to look at them either
As for 2 weeks cooling off period, its from when you click order, not 2 or more weeks later when you plug in your router. USELESS, I should have read reviews before.

Okay I cannot give a broadband reliability as it is so damned slow. 0.26 down and 0.19 up. I called on behalf of my 86 yeard old Father who was supposed to get 2-4 mbps down and no guarantee for up apparently needless to say I phoned they checked the line said all is fine they suggest I make 5 speedtest in a 24 hour period. On their advised site I said after testing what is ther speed on that line. OMG after saying its fine 0.26 down 0.19 up. Well I was fuming acceptable..?
My Father has had this for 6 years paid 19.00 a month and the PO now offer 11mbits for 17.00 including landline in total he pays 29.00 a month for phone and internet. This is shameful and diabolical
total rip off please do not use this service there are many better braodbands on offer

Read the other reviews BEFORE you do anything, then go with anyone except these clowns. If you want dial-up speed and dropped connections you won't be dissappointed. Customer service is a joke and they lie, 2 engineers visits booked and when no-one showed they tell me they weren't booked - if you are a customer and want out complain to Meredith Sharples (look on ceo email for email address) then you will get to speak to someone in authority, once they go thru the motions ask them to send you a pre paid envelope for the return of the router, then tell them you have cancelled the direct debit and you look forward to the county court appearance before a judge to hear your evidence - it worked for me leaving the contract early, with compensation and no final bill. Hope this helps

Please read the low score reviews as these are the truest ones for this despicable shower of "you know what"
After only 28 days of 1Mbs-25Mbs and continuous dropped connections and lies from the PO I'm off and they let me - threatened to let them take me to court so we could argue it out there as they were taking money by false representation but they backed down. Constant lies of an engineer being booked, then after no one attending denying one had been booked. If you want dial up speed and like throwing your money away - go ahead and use these cowboys, advice for anyone else find the ceo's email address and use it. Take note they are not signed up to OFCOM Broadband guidelines - I wonder why!!!

Diabolical service. Speed varies from 0.25mB to 6mb. had the engineer out over 6 times, he finds no fault! The line drops out every 10 minutes, with a 1-2 minutes wait to reconnect. To cap it all tonight I call them and 20 minutes later they still cannot confirm my account!
She insisted a line test wasn't possible from her end as I had to do it! I don't know how I would do that. I cannot tell you the trouble we've had with them. Do yourself a favour and use another ISP because these people are just the worst company I've ever dealt with in my life.

Not fit for purpose. For months I have complained of a speed close to 50kB. Totally unusable. The answer from them is, we can't find a problem. It is obvious to me that the line is being throttled, and they don't know the difference between bit or Byte.. Retired network engineer.

Utterly disgraceful service. Nothing but problems since day one. the technichal helpling is a joke as the staff have little or no training. They constantly mess up bills and take more money then meant to. And to top it all off, the internet provider isnt actually Post Office at all it's Talk Talk. If they had been honest about this from the start I wouldn't have joined them.

Similar to a number of other reviewers, my transfer from BT to Post Office broadband was a bit of a disaster. To their credit, their customer service folks did try to help, and I was refunded £20 for the inconvenience.

Once My service was established, my broadband speed deteriorated from the 6Mb/s I had with BT to 2Mb/s with Post Office, then gradually got worse until I hit 0.3Mb/s, resulting in more calls to their customer service folks. To their credit, their tech folks advised they subcon their lines from TalkTalk and admitted there was nothing they could do to help and as a result they would waive their cancellation fee, but I would need to go back to the main customer service folks to try to reclaim the years' line rental I'd paid in advance. Another £8 was credited to my account for the inconvenience.

Immediately thereafter my speed increased to 6 to 7 Mb/s, so I decided to stick with it. Alas this was only a blip lasting about a week before dropping back to the more usual 0.3 - 1.5 Mb/s speeds.

I've since stayed with them for the year (to get my money's worth for the line rental), and I am now leaving to go to Plus Net (fingers crossed for a better speed).

Contrary to many of the reviews, I found their customer service quite good - their folks seemed genuine and did their best to help. Unfortunately I cannot recommend them purely on their speed. BT used to provide me 6 Mb/s and are now offering up to 17 Mb/s on the same line. Post Office offered up to 8Mb/s but delivered substanially less. Personally I believe this is primarily down to TalkTalk who have not bought enough bandwidth to cope with the number of customers they have in the area, and Post Office customers suffer the same fate.

It is the worst! The absolute worst! I read the reviews and stupidly went ahead! It's hell! Unless you're sitting in the same room as the box, don't expect to watch a video. If you miss a bill, ONE bill for 1 week, they cut you off and when you phone and pay immediately, it takes 4 days to re-activate. Customer service is a shambolic joke! You could not pay me to take out this line again. I'd rather have a sumo wrestler sit on my face. It is hell! You will want to die. It is worse than the terrorists.

I asked for the line rental saver on initial sign up to a homephone and broadband deal, however when I looked at the bill I didn't get what I had asked for.

I then contacted customer service who said that they would listen to the call and what they said was I had never asked for line rental saver. This is a total lie since I always ask to pay line rental up front for the duration of the package or at least for the year.

What did they do? Was the end of the call deleted. Some customer service that is. you can be sure I am not going back after this contact is over.

Worst broadband we have ever had. Customer service is terrible. No interest in trying to address issues. Does not achieve anywhere close to average speed we signed up to. They get around it by claiming the speed will be achieved if you attach device you are using to router with an ethernet cable. Totally impractical with young children. It is so bad we just rely on mobile data. Avoid post office internet at all costs!!!! TERRIBLE!

Worst company I've ever had to deal with in 26 years.
Rock bottom customer service, after nearly 6 months I still have not received my welcome pack, despite requesting it 9 times, also have the spelling of my name wrong, no bills get sent to me - all I get told is that I can view them online and if I read my ( non existent welcome pack/contract) it tells me how to do so on there. As a result, I've had my service cut off once due to an unpaid bill - paid immediately as soon as I received a nasty threatening letter - it seems they do know my address after all!!!! So why no welcome pack or contract????? I don't even know the terms and conditions of my deal as they continually fail to send it to me.
I've had my line fixed twice now as it didn't work, and now after having been cut off and restarted again it runs at an unusable slow speed, told to wait three days to wait for it to catch up! A catalogue of mistakes and utter uselessness from the post office - and their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. Stay well away from this useless uncaring company as they are incapable of helping you or sorting out problems in any way - shame I can't give them minus marks actually as it would be minus 5 stars - they are honestly that bad!
Find a reliable, trustworthy company instead as the post office will not give you anything like what you ( quite rightly) expect. They are utter rubbish!!!!

We were recently offered a free upgrade to fibre from standard broadband to the end of our contract. Looking at the mostly terrible reviews we were doubtful. However so far it has been very successful with download speeds at the lower limit promised. We did lose Wifi once but this was quickly sorted with the help of their technicians.

You get what you pay for. Originally it was a 24 quid a month deal for 48 months which is now over 50 quid a month inexplicably (not phone costs). The router is garbage, an overheating hunk of molten garbage. The quality of our connection is also hot garbage. Constant cut outs and slow downs. Sometimes images load like they did in the late 90s such is the low quality of the connection. You will NOT get the speed you 0ay far and you WONT receive a solution from the post office. I have 4 month left thank god. Don't make the mistake I did, go somewhere else.

Went online at work to talk online, got communication so i asked them to cancel my order as they had not connected me yet- they said please contact the call centre again. I laughed considering thats what id being trying to do. P.s. where do you think the extra call charges go to, oh yes thats why they are so cheap......AVOID AVOID AVOID

STAY AWAY - Since day dot, the post office has been on the back foot trying to make up for their terrible service and speeds... Their latest let down is due to myself moving home and advising that the fibre optic broadband that I pay for and use for work won’t be available until after 28 days of my move!!! I repeat STAY AWAY!!!!!

The broadband keeps cutting out not sure if it is the router or the system. At peak times the speed can be slow but its not that bad...providing the connection doesn't cut out which happens nearly daily.
