It's been a month since I ordered Origin Broadband and I still haven't even received an installation date. Tried to call twice before work and put on hold for 30 mins with no response both times. I have since emailed them twice and still no response. Worst customer service I've ever had.

Speed no where near what was advised, been on hold over the past 2 days for over 3 1/2 hours trying to sort. Over the 4 calls keep getting told I need to speak to tier 2 support and then left on hold for over an hour with no answer. Finally got through to find out they have put me on the wrong broadband package and even thoigh im paying for faster speeds im on the lowest speed broadband. They cant fix as the office is closed and will get someone to call me back tomorrow. Fingers crossed as they promised a call back today and i still had ring up.

This company is just here to take your money for no service at all. They are masquerading as a broad band provider and in reality they should be called jack Turpin, the customer service is dire too I am affraid to say too long waiting time to even get through to talk to them. Tonight I have been asked to take my phone socket to but to test the line I don't think this is normal at all AVOID THEM LIKE TUE PLAGUE.

I'll start by saying I've had worse internet. This was however back in 1998 when I had dial up.
Since starting with Origin on the 10th of February I've had nothing but problems, my connection cutting out, speed plummeting to 0.03mbs download etc. Trying to get in contact with customer services or Technical support is next to impossible and they do not live up to promises of call backs.
I'm giving them the required 8 weeks to resolve my issues and then I will be leaving and telling everyone I know to steer clear of this company. AVOID.

After signing up with Origin. It took 2 weeks to get an engineer out and installed. That was normal. However the same day of the line being installed, I still had no connection. Called them to wait on the phone for an hour. Got told to wait 24 hours. Called the next day as no connection. Told to wait another 24 hours. Still no connection. Logged a fault. 48 hours and 3 call later ( all calls were longer then an hour on hold) Got told that it had been logged with BT. Wait 48 Hours. this went on for 2 weeks until they managed to get BT onsite. Finally got connected. about a week later, lost internet connection, could not get through to any of there numbers. I have not gotten any reply backs to the emails i have sent through to them for support. They have now charged me for line rental on a package that has no line rental as advertised and agreed to when signing up.

In Feb 2017 I bought an 18 month contract up front from Origin. 5 months into it Origin started charging me for the broadband I had already paid for! Countless phone calls several letters and I've got nowhere. Thankfully they suggested I cancel my direct debit so several months later (May 2018) we are about even on costs but I don't know how to progress from here when I have such mistrust in their ability.
I'm going to lodge my complaint with the ombudsman and likely I will terminate my contract early on the grounds of breach of contract.
Their customer service in my opinion, to be completely honest is absolutely diabolical.
In addition getting technical problems resolved by them is also a painful and slow process. They have to go through "open reach" and I get the feeling that solving origin problems is a priority right at the bottom of the open reach list or it could be that origin are just bad at that as well.
Now more recently my broadband connection keeps dropping out and it came as no surprise to find that I'm now struggling to get that resolved.
I'm afraid I have to say that after signing up with them, I can make no positive comments about origin.
My only recommendation is don't sign up........

Our situation as concise and informative as I could write:
- Started to set up the contract in September.
- Two week wait for an engineer that didn't come.
- Another two week wait for an engineer that left without saying goodbye. Router plugged in but no internet connection.
- Another month past with us trying via phone and online chat to set up the internet.
After two months of having no home broadband we decided to cancel the contract as we'd spent so much money of mobile data to attend our lectures, watch movies, recipes, ect.
We changed to Vodafone who set up our internet with a great connection exactly 15 days of us requesting a contract.
Another month later we receive a "Termination Fee" from Origin, a provider that not only failed to provide but caused us stress and a HUGE waste of time. (waiting for 50 mins on the phone after three transfers of "hello how may I help you").
Absolute scam!

I have switched to Origin (never heard of them before) on the 7th of Nov from a well known provider. Great customer service, home broadband speed better than ever and better than the speed they guaranteed. Also a much better price. No interruptions at all either. So far I am very happy

Broadband could not supply broadband for my grandparents and 3 months after paying for installation and agreeing to contract Origin still hadn’t organised installation at my grandparents house. I finally got hold of them (as noted as a person who can discuss account on my grandparents behalf) via online chat and discussed termination of the contract. They finally agreed via online chat and I sent them the router back as requested. Last week my grandparents received a letter from a bailiff demanding a payment t of over £400 for a full contract amount plus legal fees. They are bullies, can’t supply the service they promise, and have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. They have caused my elderly grandparents a huge amount of stress and anxiety and should be avoided at all costs. Disgraceful.

I took out broadband with origin as i heard through the grapevine they do not impose the dreaded Fair Usage Policy or Traffic Shaping at peak times like most of the big companies do.. throttling your connection right back..and i believe this to be the case.
I also opted for a useful static ip for almost no extra. However the compromise for me has been a consistant download speed of 900kb.. not even 1mb! A fifth of the speed the line is capable of. So only good for browsing and even that requires a router reset every week or so as all hangs. Terrible.
I've tried to stick this service out for almost 11 months now as not in much.. but now theyve just double the monthly bill for no reason. Enough is enough.. i wont be returning or recommending this to anyone.

Having paid for a year's service up front, I have had "bills" for monthly line rental on 6 occasions within a year. Each time, I had to call their helpline (no other contact possibilities given) and wait 20-30 minutes to be told that they'd fix it and it would not happen again. In August, they actually managed to steal £18.095 from me and to date have not paid it back despite me contacting them several times. Actual internet service is fairly fast but had to reboot rooter about once a month when it crashed or the service failed. No outages of more than one hour.

Hi,don't make the same mistake as me.
Pay 19.99£ and get only 500kbps download and 300kbps upload speed. First week,no internet connection at all, they've send someone in to check my connection.
Poor service and very slow speed.. I've been told by their tech team that 500kbps it's a good speed for my connection. I was paying double for a Virgin connection(42£ a month) and getting a speed bigger than 30mbps,due too the fact that we don't have Virgin in our area I'm stuck with them. AVOID ORIGIN BROADBAND.

Stay away from Origin.
It was bad first week after some connection problems outside of the flat.
Good for the next two weeks, now bad again.
Any browser I choose to use sometimes is slower than, they said to test the speed on my own.Pointless,it says I got 5 mbps download, upload is almost dead or viceversa.
Just stay away,I don't even bother to contact them. I have issues everyday with them.

This is my review and to be honest I don't know where to begin with this company. Unreliability has been a major problem with the internet going down without prior warning of doing so. Despite numerous times I've rang to discuss issues like most of you the people are nice to talk to but it's like with there internet they can't function and go into the classic default mode of trying to blame BT or lying repeatedly to me about this will get solved or as I had with one of the complaints team " I know about the final right to reject and I accept that and also we will pay back in full the money that you paid out for the router that I had to pay for". This of cause was another lie. The other problems I've had is the internet will go off when we need it the most as I've got a one year old son he likes watching YouTube videos of his favourite tv shows it's very difficult telling a one year old that the internet has gone off and it's not his fault. Generally the moto for origin is correct the only thing they got right. Where it begins. Yes it begins with them lying, taking money for a service that works when it wants to and not accepting blame. If any of you have an enemy and they ask for advice for there next internet company then go with origin. This company should be shut down completely and Ofcom and relevant associations should close them down before anybody else's hard earned money goes to this horrible company.

Don't even think abut going with Origin. we ended up with them thanks to SSE Broadband dumping their customers to them (presumably without doing any proper due diligence). Continuous breaks in broadband and slower speeds. Eventually switched to BT after numerous complaints to Origin which made no difference to quality of provision. They are now pursuing us for £160 for terminating their crappy "service" Zero out of Five in reality.

Total scum would be the nicest thing I could say about these clowns. Didn't provide me with a service, wouldn't listen to anything I said but want me to pay £233 to leave when I got nothing from them. They try to intimidate you into paying and I'd say they do it a lot.

I've been with origin for almost 2 years and, from the start, the broadband service has been available all the time; no problems with that.
Customer service, however, is in need of some work. I signed up for a 12 month package and paid up front. After a couple of months - in the new year - I noticed that there was a payment from my bank account so I called up and was told there had been a mistake and it would be corrected. The following month, same again. Third month in a row, same again. Eventually, the payments stopped and a cheque for 4 months overpayments was sent to me. When my 12 months were over, I called and renewed, full payment, same as before, and in year 2 no problems either with service or extra payments.
I've just made a payment for year 3 - a bit early; payment on August 1 for a service starting in September but it's paid now so I'm not going to fight over it.
To be completely fair, the people at Origin have sorted out the problems as they arose but their process seems to be very slow. Whenever I've called, they have been polite and I don't recall it taking too long to connect.
Avoid? No - if you're patient with them, they will get things right and, to be fair, my broadband connection has never let me down.

I placed an order to transfer my phone and broadband to Origin in December 2016. According to Origin they have been providing my telephone line since January 31st. However I'm still connected to my old provider network and still paying them. Origin haven't the vaguest clue about telecommunications or customer service. They do, however, excel in one area and that is taking money. My advice would be to avoid them at all cost. Find a proper supplier.

Im having to use my phone data to post this as i did sign up for internet but only had it for 10 mins in 3 days. Piss poor and ill be getting in touch with an ombudsmen for breach of contract they tried to say i was tied in with as ive had no service. 1st phone call over 40 mins. Currently on the phone again to no avail. I wish id seen all these reviews before i signed up id have stayed with sky. Slightly more expensive but least i get what i pay for instead of paying for a service and getting nothing. Im going back to sky if they try and bill me for the contract they can whistle

Tried several times to contact and sort.. customer services had NO idea my account had been sold on and no idea about Fleur, they couldn’t discuss the direct debits as my account was not found !!! I have tired complaints but nothing. I have no idea who to contact in Origin to sort out my DD!!!! Terrible

Truly appalling, if you don;t want constant stress avoid this company. Very low speeds ie 3.25 and 0.54,so slow cant always do speed test! Customer service, truly appalling, unable to sort out any problem including: seriously incorect billing, slow speeds, incorrect info on online account, if you ever manage to register,& if so you will be disappointed, it is double dutch, IT problems and all they do is send an email to IT/Billing etc to look into problem reorted and months down the line in spite of calling weekly still no answers or reasons for all of these problems which get worse when you contact Origin Customer sreviced

It took over a month to get the switch date sorted but I have no knowledge as to why that was. Nice slim/black sci-fi router which arrived about a week before I needed it so that was one thing I wasn't kept waiting for - so far no problems with the standard broadband or the service.

I switched to Origin because apprently with them I could have gotten fibre. And Plusnet as existing customer was extremely slow and very expensive.
However, I did not get fibre but get charged for it every month and have to phone customer services, which are a nightmare to get hold of. I have spent over 3 hours in the queue in customer services altogether according to my biil, until the broadband was running, then twice already over an hour each to get my bill amended and contract changed. You cannot reach them online, issues have to be reported phone.
The connection keeops dropping constantly.
The only advantage is that they are a lot faster now than plusnet has been. I still will leave them as soon as my contract finishes, and definately not go back to them until they upgrade their customer service.
