Angry Re: BT Broadband is the worst isp IN THE WORLD

I moved from Sky when i cancelled my TV package, as it had been about 10 years since using BT i thought that they really must have got better in that time. MY MISTAKE!!!!!
I phoned in April 2010 (when it comes to sales its always English people you speak too!!) as the line was there he checked speed and said i would receive upto 1.5MBPS this is because my line is 5-7KM from exchange. We talked about different services and ended up taking line rental, evening and weekends and option 3 broadband.
First letter i received a week later stated that my BB would be 1MBPS so i had already lost 1/5MBPS and not yet even connected. So this was my first phone call to BT (Indian) had to phone back could not understand a word (so much for BT moving all there call centres back to UK). At this time nothinig was sorted as there was many line checks and it all came back saying 1MBPS was the fastest i was going to get.
In the start of June i received everything from BT and got the letter of activation date for the BB, so contected up on the next day after activation. When all installed and set up i worked with it for the next 10days as they say this will set your speed. After the 10 days i decided to do a speed check and to my supprise i wasn't even getting 512KBPS it was more around 370-400KBPS. So from my first phone call with BT i had lost over 1MBPS, well i can't say lost as i never had it but it was a hell of a difference from what they had told me i would get upto.
The next 3months was filled with phone calls and stress, finally got an engineer out to look at the connections. Nothing wrong in the house but outside there was a fault and in the green box down the road there was a fault. Once all fixed the engineer said give it a day or two so they can run tests on the line and get the speed levelled out. So i did and to my supprise i was now pushing the great speed of 512KBPS (whoop whoop!!) still a very big difference from what was actually given as my upto speed. this is also with BT magic boost box that you plug into your phone line.

For my 3 months of stress and phones calls they thought they were being kind by crediting me £75.00.
BT I WISH I HAD NEVER LEFT SKY.

But the stupid thing was when i was with Sky i had no problems no reason to call and they boosted my line so my broadband was coming into me at around 2-2.5MBPS which was excellent for the distance of my line.(and with a fault on too)

when i asked BT to do the same and boost my line in their own words "no service provider can boost your line you get the speed that is maximum for your line and that is what we are giving you"

I can't wait till my 12month contract is up as this will be the last time i will ever use BT they truly are the WORST in the UK at least.

Also since June 2010 still to present i have no end of line drops(thats not what the advert says) even my hub has reset its self 4 times (password, WPA key and settings)

What i am trying to say is that BT are **** but there is also alot out there that are just as bad for instance Talk Talk - wouldn't touch them with a barge pole constant lies to keep you with them! keep telling you about charges if you try and leave them even if outside contract.

All broadband providers have guppy call centres you're not going to get away from this. Everbody everywhere will have an issues with even the best service providers. But i will be going back to Sky once my contract is up.
